— Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates told a Congressional panel that he strongly opposed putting any American forces in Libya. Asked if there would be American “boots on the ground” — that is, uniformed members of the military — Mr. Gates swiftly replied, “Not as long as I’m in this job.”

Meanwhile, back at the front…

Anwar al-Awlaki, al-Qaeda’s most influential English-language preacher, said …

“Our mujahideen brothers in Tunisia, Egypt, Libya and the rest of the Muslim world will get a chance to breathe again after three decades of suffocation,” …

“We do not know yet what the outcome would be (in any given country), and we do not have to. The outcome doesn’t have to be an Islamic government for us to consider what is occurring to be a step in the right direction,” he said.

“In Libya, no matter how bad the situation gets and no matter how pro-Western or oppressive the next government proves to be, we do not see it possible for the world to produce another lunatic of the same calibre of the Colonel (Gaddafi).”

… guess it sounds like Gates is announcing his resignation, based on his first comment…

    ^ Well, not yet.
“Not as long as I’m in this job.”
Pretty clear that some frank conversations have been held.
Dang, but I’d love to see the candid videos of Hillary in full fit.

Wanna see a shitstorm of accusation and counter-blame and resignations?
Just wait until the first American pilot catches the golden BB.
Our Liar in Chief (Piss Be Upon Him) will take credit for helping innocent civilians, speak reverently of the sacrifice and disavow any responsiblity for the pilot’s loss. He will blame all this on and demand the resignation of:
    Nicolas Sarkozy
    William Gates
Winston Churchill (Uhbama doesn’t know who the current Prime Minister is, but he hates Churchill)
    The Dalai Lama
    Hillary Clinton
Hosni Mubarak (for not stopping his revolution and thereby inspiring the Labians)
Bill Clinton (for not controlling Hillary)
    The Tea Party
    Republicans
    George Bush
