God bless Jon Thomas Tumilson, his family and his lab, Hawkeye.
And God Bless Texas!!!! — Hook’um Horns!
gonna have dust in my eyes a bit tonight….must be the drought down south of here.
That Sailor gave his all. One can only hope his family can take some small comfort knowing he died doing what he loved.
Dogs are imbued with, loyalty, love and dignity. The dog in this photo displays all three characteristics.
damn it, got something in my eye.
wow. that picture gives me chills. ‘thank you’ seems so insignificant. :(
Master Chief,
Some breeds and some individual canine just seem to be made to serve, this is one. Reminds me of a German Shepard my brother had…..yeup – ^^^what Mark said.^^^
Helluva picture!
Loyalty is something that dogs and GIs understand and value. They don’t throw their companions under the bus like a Kenyan muslim we know does.
I will never be the same after seeing this.
Never. I cannot breathe………..
My little sweetheart of 14 years, Baby, Black Lab, went on to meet the LORD last August and when I saw this last night I just lost it. Doggies and humans. Pardon me a moment.
I dont recall who said it, but;
“May I always strive to be the person my dog thinks I am”
I guess PO Tumilson really was…
I saw that pic while I was at work yesterday. It was on a teeny tiny screen and it took me a second to realize that was his dog on the floor and it stopped me in my tracks.
RIP.
Words fail, other than saying “thank you” for sharing this.
That picture hurts.
LLoyd, I’m convinced God loves gun dogs ’cause he don’t let us keep ‘em very long.
OC
That just broke me up.
You know, I was a cat man till I got my first dog, Teddy.
That dog was so loyal and tried to do his best every day. And then cancer got him.
I hope Tumilson’s family takes care of Hawkeye.
Dog really does say God in reverse.
