I don’t even think the second graders are buying what he’s selling now.

    ROTFLOL — excellent work Stilton!!

Now this I have to report to ;-)

Seriously though, how long does it take to do something clever like this? Do you use Photoshop?

Blue Max- I use Photoshop’s less expensive little brother, Photoshop Elements (and I’m still very much a novice). A quick job like this one didn’t take much time at all (maybe 10 minutes). Basically the idea hit me, and the actual execution was quick. I just couldn’t stand to leave the joke inside my head.

The most challenging part of Stilton’s PShop is prob’ly masking the finger shapes accurately. Skewing the new Bush image to fit the orientation of the book is pretty easy. The part that really sells the image is adding the finger shadows on the new pages. It’s details like that which, if skipped, make for an amateur job.

    Okay, scratch all that.
    The idea is everything.

I use PShop Elements, too, but not all of its features.
(What? Yeah, yeah, I’ll read the manual one’a these days.)
Most of the stuff I do here is quick’n dirty, too, usually 15-30min.
The expensive full PShop is for photo pros.

Thanks Stilton and DougM. You two are very good at creating biting and humorous images, thanks for giving us some insight into how you do it.

And per Spin, I often have them going out to all my friends and family. First e-mail today was sending out a link to Doug’s Steve Jobs tribute, the second e-mail was a link to Stilton’s Obama Blame Bush image.

    Keep up the great work!
