Wow, why so down? Our “problem” is that we have never scrutinized our candidates like we are this year. People in politics tend to be deranged, in a way, because they get off on power. It takes a real saint to stay away from trouble and to also not be painted as corrupt by association with the rats in the nest.

I want a Santorum-Paul ticket. We’d kill. Paul would bring the libertarians and Santorum would bring the conservatives, and we’d get 60 percent of the vote. 55 if Trump runs.

Three months ago I was guessing Obama had about a 55% chance of reelection.

Watching this circus I’m upgrading that chance to 65%.

Sure hope I’m wrong. Not sure I’m going to like the result if I am.

No, neither Santorum nor Paul will save us. Neither will a “brokered convention.”

A couple of giant meteors or maybe asteroids landing in the right places might help a little, but I’m not holding my breath.

Margin Call — it gives one a little insight into how these things go down. Even if it’s just fiction, it’s not really fiction.

The Ides of March — just watched this one last night and I gotta say that Clooney did a good job (for a co*ksucking motherfu*king lib). Seriously,watch this flim. It’s all about campaign dirty-dealing on the Dem side, but it hardly matters which side. This one should get the Worthless Academy Award™ for best pic, but that would cause too many people to see it and become cynical about the whole process, so the nod will probably go to this one…

Moneyball — A nice, tense ‘inside baseball’ flick. Kinda the same as the two above in a “behind the scenes” kinda way. I enjoyed it, and Brad Pitt still has a nice butt. I’d hit it (butt then, hell, I’d hit the neighbor’s riding lawnmower if he didn’t keep it locked up at night).

FWIW, some of the high-level investors did make money on foreclosures from the mortgage insurance, or credit default swaps. I found that out when I tried to help someone keep their home. The bank wasn’t interested, they wanted the insurance money. It was only after the “mark to market” kicked in that the assets became toxic.
