It was balmy that night in Rio. The kind of ‘balm’ that makes you want to take a stroll along Cocacabana Beach and get mugged, or maybe ass-raped. Or both.

I’d already made a mental note to myself to upgrade the caliber of my pissy little .357 Magnum. The last sucker who’d crossed me had taken almost three seconds to die. This was not acceptable, so now I was packing a .44 with exploding, uranium-tipped ammo dipped in the venom of some snake I’d brought back from ‘Nam. I called him “Pepe”. He didn’t eat much, and he was handy for getting rid of bar floozies who were starting to get on my nerves…

The Girl from Ipanema was waiting for me back in my hotel room, but her ass was starting to get a little saggy by now, and her tits were shot, so there was no rush. Just a quiet little stroll along the beach.
