Great big bit of a chuckle on that one from the bit of Irish in me.
It’s also a big day for me— 25 years ago I donated my kidney to my cousin. She got my kidney but I have the privilege of being able to give it to her.

My people are from Belfast. We celebrate our Irishness of the 12th of July.

    On the Walls of Derry!

    Yep,
that’s the North Yorkshire I remember: glorious countryside, sheep, dogs, pubs, and indecipherable speech.
Still have my uniform around here, som’eres: Donegal-tweed flat cap, waxed jacket, pipe, wellies, and a couple’a quid* for a couple pints’a best (50-60p ’81-’84).

    * Any more and you’d be at risk of having to buy a round.
