Whoz Yer Target Market, Baby?

no, really. that’s a real question. srsly.

Here’s the site: http://barackobama.tumblr.com

I’m having a really really difficult time imagining that the real POTUS’ campaign committee really put this up. Reaching out to the kewl kidz with their social media madd slkz is one thing but ComiCon faaaanz?

Oddly enough, the Obama Poster Project returns a FTO message. Another Memory Hole *00psie*p00f*? It’s baaaaack. and you can get a t-shirt there….

SWeasel SO worth a *clicky* to see her take on it …

Wait… since when did the “Horizon” logo have a Star in it?!??!

Other items available from the Obama Poster Project:

Which comes from this:

Called “Zbama” A tribute to Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou directed by Wes Anderson [it's a movie]

And this: “Odyssey” ‘inspired by’ Kubrick’s 2001

Future offerings are ‘inspired by’ Ghostbusters, The Avengers, Drive, and two[2] Star Wars…

Wonder what other movies will ‘inspire’ posters?

Bonnie & Clyde?

Grapes of Wrath?

Gold Diggers of 1933?

This depicts a black man wearing a mask.

    I suspect racism.

Er, Claire, it is hard to believe that even the BO campaign committee would think this is a good idea (especially since he looks like a total dweeb); but y’know —

That question about target audience actually sways me toward thinking it makes sense…

There’s a substantial BO voter demographic that would actually think this is neat….

Of course a lot of them are still living with their parents…

Or are too busy saving the environment to notice it’s immature even for a 15 year old…

I know nothing about photoshop – that just begs for a “Captain Bullshit” or “Lord Smug” counter.

I wonder what the A stands for— I can think of something–here’s a hint– it’s an exit port for waste–

I’m guessing the “A” stands for ass rape.

In 2008 there were 2 demographics that overwhelmingly voted for OBoBo.
    1. Black Americans.
    2. Young Americans.

For all the likely comic book familiar and Negroid Race voters, this poster is targeted. It is classic OBoBo tribal politics; the antithesis of the words on our Statue of Liberty and Liberty Bell.

Other political philosophies that employ the “divide and conquor” tactic are:
    1. The RAT Party.
    2. Communist Party.
    3. Socialist Party.
    4. Facsist Party.
    5. Green Party.
    6. La Raza.
    7. Progressives [...for thee but not me...].
    8. MfcsMedia [...formerly the 4th Estate...].

It really is just a marketing campaign, iddn’t it? Like for selling a Volt or a laundry soap. Mad Men indeed.

‘Course maybe it has been just that for a long time. But the idea in the mad men’s heads of their target market has changed from adults worried about things like the economy, security, and Values like Freedom of the Individual and who are willing to learn about and discuss difficult, oft dry subjects.

Now We The People Target Market are seen as children who must be protected by our “Superiors” from the adult worries over the economy, nanny-intrusion, world politix, etc. and given all-squish, all-juice, all emo-based enticements to “vote.” Oh, look: feudalism. again…

That’s gonna be a lot of work — getting Americans to bend the knee…

Dick @ 3 — rly, clicky on the SWeasel linky. Good start. Wait til Rodgie gets hold of this. It really is worthy of a PS InnarToobs Meme…
[start with a CircleD on the front and a GE logo on the side......]

    Oh, look: feudalism. again…

Claire, you’ve got a way with words.

To all who speculate on what the “A” might stand for. So may options it’s hard to choose; but, from now on, when I hear one of his shallow, condescending, full-of-himself, facts-take-a-holiday speeches here’s the word I’m going to think as I turn it off:
