The U.S. Justice Department has opened a civil rights probe into the shooting, and a grand jury is scheduled to meet April 10 to consider evidence in the case.

Screw the stats.
A criminal is an individual, no matter what set of visually/socially/economically/politically/religiously/sexually/fraternally-identifiable group they can be associated with and no matter what others they may be with.
A victim is an individual. The tragedy/loss/pain is an individual’s.
This collectivist crap shields individual responsibility and culpability.
It is anti-justice.
I would sure like to see a ‘current’ photo of Trayvon Martin.
The photo in the news looks like it’s a few years old.

The parents will eventually cause the entire episode to self destruct. They’ve entered the media arena – unarmed and ignorant. Eventually, everything they ever held private, or sacred will be eviscerated, skinned, slice, diced, cooked and served to the public until there’s nothing left but memories and sordid details.
Agreed. In full. Each incidence is about individuals. With facts particular. Which is the way I would like this case to be approached.
I cited those stats only to put into perspective Teh Narrative that there’s “white folks going around recreationally shooting black children all the time” as presented by Sharpie Jackson and the rest.

That used to happen, and it happened because of a collectivist mindset.
“Content of their character” was s’post’a fix it.
(Now, that, my friends was as clear a call to individualism as I’ve ever heard.)
Nope, the Dem/Prog/Left just can’t get past “the color of their skin” endemic revenge-politics, bigotry (albeit a less-lynchy one… well, up to now, anyway), and class warfare. They cannot allow individualism to interfere with The Progress™.
Frankly, I don’t care if the stats were to say that this probably was a racially motivated crime. “Probably” has nothing to do with it, and I had nothing to do with it.
I refuse to take upon myself the guilt of others.
I refuse to take for myself the credit due to others.
The concepts of collective and inherited guilt, victimhood, privilege, and state of sin are stupid, irrational, and un-friggin’-just.
Until this country gets right with individuality, there will be bigotry.

That’s what bothers me most of all. The jusridictional chicanery. That town cop shop oughta say “This is our call based on the facts on the ground. You don’t like it? Move.”
Having them bow out, then the state DA scurry for the deep weeds, and the Fedz take over: seems too much like “Big, political case goes to the King’s Judges.” I fear Mr Zimmerman will not get a fair hearing by a jury of his peers based on the facts.
