Psychos and fascists and traitors … oh, my!

Jackass #1

Writing for Forbes Magazine, climate change alarmist Steve Zwick calls for skeptics of man-made global warming to be tracked, hunted down and have their homes burned to the ground, yet another shocking illustration of how eco-fascism is rife within the environmentalist lobby.

Comparing climate change skeptics to residents in Tennessee who refused to pay a $75 fee, resulting in firemen sitting back and watching their houses burn down, Zwick rants that anyone who actively questions global warming propaganda should face the same treatment. “We know who the active denialists are – not the people who buy the lies, mind you, but the people who create the lies. Let’s start keeping track of them now, and when the famines come, let’s make them pay. Let’s let their houses burn. Let’s swap their safe land for submerged islands. Let’s force them to bear the cost of rising food prices,” writes Zwick, adding, “They broke the climate. Why should the rest of us have to pay for it?”

So, we’re “Denialists” now? Woooookayp

How about a little #OccupyTehran, there, Bubba? You know, just to be fair.

*sigh* No, I don’t have much to add.
Well, actually, I do; but you already know what I’m gonna say, so …

I did a rant about AGW skeptics a while back.

Anthropogenic Global Warming => Anthropogenic Climate Change => Anthropogenic Climate Disruption.

They keep changing the name, as the climate refuses to play along. Once they discovered that our warming trend was grinding to a halt, AGW became ACC, which became ACD, thus removing any responsibility for falsifiability.

It’s a good bet the climate will change, and that we’ll have severe weather now and then, so climate change and climate disruption are self-fulfilling prophecies, and it’s caused by human prosperity, don’tcha know. They’re sooo clever, ain’t they?

I wonder if it ever occurs to these clowns that, in at least some cases, committing arson can be a rather hazardous activity? Liable to lead to foreign object damage?

Doug, thanks for the note; but….

A radical environmentalist burnt that house?

I thut it wuz a dragon. Shit!

You got to watch out when a dragon radical fruitcake environmentalist goes nuts and gets off the reservation: there may be house burnings.

Wonder what’s the carbon footprint on a burning house, anyway?

Karl (3): the correct label for their movement is AIK (Anti-Industrial Kook), ACC (Anti-Civilization Conspirator) or PSO (Pseudo-Scientific Opportunist) but for some reason they avoid these labels.

Well Zwick better get busy cause there are millions of skeptics to global warming, and they don’t ‘buy the lies’ but instead just see through the BS.

But I do suggest if Zwick carries through with his screed to not come to Texas.

Our Castle Doctrine is in effect and it’s a real mighty risky thing to do, burning down houses, around here.

^ there’s been a study that showed the average medium sized dog emits more CO2 in the course of a year than a Hummer does.

So, I assume an environmentalist, such as Steve Zwick, emits more CO2 than a Hummer as well. Possibly *two* Hummers.

What burning down all those houses would do to the the national carbon footprint, one can only imagine.

Yeesh — enough with the hysteria, already.

The guy did NOT: “call[s] for skeptics of man-made global warming to be tracked, hunted down and have their homes burned to the ground”.

He DID say [paraphrased]: “We know who the leaders are already — the thinkers and do-ers, not The Innocent Believers. Let’s make them pay *by* “swap[ping] their safe land for submerged islands” and “force[ing] them to bear the cost of rising food prices“.

While the burning house thing was a metaphor [worth about a henway], the *implication* was that “the innocent are rescued” from “submerged islands” and “rising food prices“.

Given that his contention is that “72% of us see[ing] a link between extreme weather and our own actionsandnot the people who buy the lies, mind you” are “The Innocent” and “The innocent but Gullible”, that seems to imply he has A Plan to Rescue The Innocent from the effects ["famines... submerged islands... rising food costs"] of AGW.

    Wonder what that is?

He *is* calling for “a fall-back – a mechanism that puts responsibility for damages on the shoulders of the shirkers and deniers who cause it and profit from it“. Though he doesn’t say what that might be other than some whiney maunderings about how hard it is to sue Big Companies and the EPA.

In his walk-backUpdate“, he does point out that “since the victims of climate change are far away, I thought this analogy would provide some immediacy. Which is odd…

    He also asks:

Since people are taking risks that impact the rest of us, doesn’t it make sense to ask how the innocent should be made whole if things go awry?

. Which is the spit-in-the-soup to ObamaKare as well. And any otehr colleeeectivist scheme.

Also, how do we differentiate between people who were acting in good faith but were swayed by deceit and people who were obfuscating the truth?

And, apparently, calls for A Plan to cover his own arse “when things go awry.”

Firstly, this is hardly unique. Warmists regularly call for punishing, shunning, and imprisoning people who disagree with them. Not just Mann and Hansen and Suzuki and that scrunt from TWC whose name I forget, scores of them from on high and hordes of them at the street level.

Secondly, if consequences for bad policy positions are in the offing, we’ve got a pretty freakin’ huge backlog before we get to blaming people for the freakin’ weather.

How about we start by jailing everyone who was in Congress and the Senate who voted for budget increases in the last 15 years? For starters? That’s got some pretty freakin’ huge consequences.

Wanna go back further? UN Population control freaks and their Western Civ enablers have killed millions – and I’m not even talking about abortions, I mean from enforced and encouraged mass murder, poor sanitation in mandatory medical treatment, etc. Jail all of them.

Anyone starting to see an implementation problem?

Zwick is no kind of reasonable. All he wants to do is punish and steal from his political enemies, just like *EVERY* other leftist. And when they get their way, you either get suffering and decay or war. Every time. And then they come back and do it over and over and over and over and over.

“… 72% of us see[ing] a link between extreme weather and our own actions”

It’s hardly worth arguing with this guy – but is he sure it isn’t 73% or 71% or maybe even 3%?

“… doesn’t it make sense to ask how the innocent should be made whole if things go awry?”

Actually, it does. But first let’s find out who the “innocent” are and how they’ve been made unwhole.
