been busy!

I have to apologize for the lack of posting…and lack of updates and heads-ups but there’s no internets where I’ve been and it’s been a frantic gathering of 25 years of stuff from my attic and house and shed and yard to bring up to the new place while we have friends with hauling rigs making themselves available.
It’s unbelievable…we literally have had these things for years just WAITING for this day I guess…

I bought that telescope for JR like TWENTY YEARS AGO! And a friend gave these chairs to me not too long after…my house has been PACKED with this great stuff that I just couldn’t part with! And now I don’t have to!

So far 2 of the 3 toilets are installed properly…NONE of the shower heads altho JR rigged one up ok. I think I can use the tub in one of the bathrooms as soon as a get a plug for it and will show you a picture of the “installation” sometime later this week. It wasn’t “presentable” yet and it’s probably going to be a post of it’s own…
This is an electric bicycle tsunami escape vehicle that Mr. Colonel Jerry, SIR!!! left behind after his last visit.

One of us and a Corgi will get out alive and for now…it stands like a work of art in it’s perfect new spot.
JR RODE IT THROUGH THE HOUSE YESTERDAY!!!
Oh, look! a tiny little Corgi!

And I’ve been waiting…bag in shed, having bartered it for something…for this moment for SEVEN YEARS…the bike I bought 23 years ago…

Aw man…that house is awesome! (yes, I’m an adult using a kid term)
I’ve always loved round windows and bare wood rafters. Complete with a stone fireplace…and a body of water of some sort.
I’m glad this house found you guys.
And the best part …
you deserve it.
Really, really nice. I bet the pooches love all the new sights and scents to check out.
I amassed “stuff” for almost 40 years while living in apartments. I packed it away for whenever I bought a house. Now that I have a house, I realized that in about 30 of those 40 years I gave away over half that “stuff”.
Did all y’alls notice our Headmistress kick boxes while riding a bike in a small arms impact area? You’re baaaaad to the bone girl!
And congratulations! Are you selling or keeping your cozy ‘old’ house?
And what is the body of water through the window?
One floor? two floors?
So much to learn.
Have fun!!
dick…it’s about 3000 square feet and two story!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FOUR bedrooms ( ok….3 and a kickboxing room…the only square room in the house :) ( somewhat small and oddly shaped because of gables and skylights and stuff…Gambrel style I think it’s called ?…it’s a crazy fabulous “custom built” home with a lot of recycled stuff hence the CRAZY and it sat empty but for the owner’s “friends” and a million other miscellaneous people and it’s so unfinished but OMFG who cares…
More and more later…
Can’t say where,…shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh…Lympians!
TomR…Rumsfeld immediately took a piss on one of the beams!
Very nice.
Thrilled for you folks.
*droolz*

Rummy: two words: disposable diaper belt.
Watch it, son.
Claire…I KNEW you’d love it :)
The “spindles” on the staircase are rebar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The railing is pipe and elbows!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Whoaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!! Talk about new homeowners climax!
I’m reliving every moment Sondra. And the lst one was a real kicker. (NPI)
But that is one of the first things I did Sondra was hang my 85 pound bag and I can’t tell you how many of the rafters I split till a guy came over and steel bolted the thing on, frame and all. Bwhahahahaaaaaaaa
What a bolast and what a workout and what a experience. Loe the telescope room too;o)
Gosh I’m so happy for you guys.
Nice! Loving the round window and the excellent chairs! How’s the buffet coming along?
Is that a concrete floor???
VERY nice!!
I’m jealous, ;-)
Conga Rats!!
“Small arms impact area” next to a heavy bag? How freakin’ awesome is that?
Congrats headmissy! Gorgeous digs. You will obviously need more corgis to fill it.
That is just gorgeous.
The space!
PeggyU…it’s at about 80% and already in it’s place ( with the box of paints and stuff :)
Not going to be able to work on it for a bit….going back up Tues-Thursday to finish cleaning and then we can’t go back for a couple weeks….but THEN it’s going to be a few 3-5 day week ends THEN big week vacation when I’ll have everything dialed in and we get to just wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee and I’ll finish it then.
Patrick…yep. With radiant heat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It takes about 12 hours to heat up to set point but there’s so much open to upstairs that with the phoney fireplace heater thingy in the bedroom it’s all good:)
The Corgis love it :)
( and so do I…so nice to just walk inside after a quick swipe of the feet on the mat and who cares! )
Very nice! The chairs surrounding the telescope look like they’re from the Captain Nemo collection – elegantly steampunk.
Lovely. I’m all full of squeeee!! for you two.
No wonder you cried!! Um didn’t see the little girl anywhere. I see the pink boots, the little star on the window sill, can’t make out the picture on the wall in the kitchen but it looks interesting I’m sure it is– the windows alone would do it for me. All that wood and stone—
Those pink boots. JR`s?
(…minor disappointment: Thought the telescope was a 60mm mortar—sigh…)
Need video (with good audio) of Gorgi nails clattering on polished floor trying to make a high-speed sliding turn, failing, and hitting chair/table/lamp.
Stilton’s right about the Nemo/steampunk theme at the oculus.
Maybe some stained-glass fish and a few dial gauges or brass clock and barometer.
Reminds me of upstairs at Gull Cottage from the Gene Tierney version of The Ghost and Mrs Muir (@ 11:30). Loved the movie, hated the awful music.
Hey!! Thats not just a house, that’s a Castle!!
PS: Good show on the Corgis. Another castle inhabitant is a life-long Corgi fan:
Queen Elizabeth and Her Corgis
“A blog by a dog who is an adorable and somewhat opinionated basenji.”
The article gets a bit mushy, but the photos are good. Check the last one – Queen Elizabeth I.

Thanks for that link.
Perhaps Missy will enjoy this:
There she is— now if she was sitting on one of the red chairs by the round window ???
That is, indeed, awesome. Congratulationsnessism!
Congratulations Sondra, I’m so happy for you.
Wish I had time to write something meaningful, but I’m in a long & hard time crunch.
May the bald eagle of happiness drop live salmon on your front steps every morning (figuratively speaking).
PS: sooooo glad you bag has a home. Always wished for that myself. Maybe someday.
Acktooly, I was imagining SondraK as “Teh Beachouse Babuska”……(full afterburner, chaff, flares, jinx…)
A Bald Eagle dropped a big Walleye on our uncles porch. It’s nest was in a big pine tree next to his camp in the woods. :))
Don’t forget to hang some pitchers on the walls.
Awesome!! Castle is right!
Biggest possible CON-GRAT-CHEW-LAY-SHUNS!
Besides being an incredibly magnificent place to live,
your excitement ’bout it is such a wonderful part of this
whole adventure!
At this time, I only have one leetle kvestshun.
Is there enough room for all your SHOOOOZ & is that
why you needed 3,000 Square feetz!
LOL@Hog and Lance!!!!!!!!!!!
It’s a second home for the time being…a little too far to commute…
We were aiming for a little clam shack or something but this was an INCREDIBLE deal and a great investment. In a year or two when we get everything fixed and spiffed up a little we can rent it out from time to time.
But only to Mormons because they don’t drink or smoke and would have use for such a large house.
It’s the size of the Mitt Romney’s beach house yannow…’cept we have one more bedroom than they do!
Fantastic! The details are delightful and my envy is overshadowed by my joy for you two on your new home.
I’m looking forward to reading your adventures in remediation as you settle in.
OMG! It’s huge and Gorgeous!
So it’s a Dacha?
Everything looks beautiful.
Izzat the world’s lumpiest bed or the former owners bodies?
Cool. I just love the Long Beach Peninsula. Lots to do there, but still plenty of secluded places. And not so far from Seaside, Oregon, too. And Cannon Beach, and Tillamook,
Fern fossils in the slate flooring?
Is that corgi really there? It looks kind of ‘shopped to me…
