On Monday, One World Trade Center will lay claim to the title of New York City’s tallest skyscraper. Workers will erect steel columns that will make its unfinished skeleton a little over 1,250 feet high, just enough to peak over the roof of the observation deck on the Empire State Building. The *original* WTC was just about my favorite urban place in the entire world.
I’m not particularly good with the “replacement” for many reasons; but I may not be considering it well since I can’t think about this area any more — the rage I will feel is too profound. That is not because of my personal loss in it, which is trifling compared to the losses of others. It is for all the obvious reasons.
I would like for us the have avenged this matter, which in my opinion we have not.
Might be too soon to tell, but it seems like the raison de `etre for having to build a new WTC is lost here. They put some blue and white lights on the top —as a jibe to the Empire State building. Why? because the latter declined to recognize “Mother Teresa”, so the new WTC took the opportunity as an add-on to being taller by an RCH!
Whoda fuck cares about that over the real tragedy??????
The whole sad story is an insult to the victims of 9-11.
Instead of unleashing total destruction and slaughter on the perps and their supporters, we have tiptoed around feelings, bickered over symbolism, tried too hard not to offend, all the while squandering money and lives in an eleven year national halfhearted effort to nationbuild in iron age culltures rather than avenge the murders of that day.
The WTC structures should have been up and occupied by 2004 latest, and in the meantime, Damascus, Teheran, Riyadh, Mecca, Medina, Qom, Islamabad, the Temple on the Mount in Jerusalem and the Shia parts of Iraq should have been smoking ruins.
Bloomberg will crow, but that crap in NYC is much too little too late.
May I ask what it is that makes most men want to be the biggest and most woman want to be the smallest. I don’t get why it’s such a big deal — what it has to do with all the victims of Muslim terrorists.
The big deal about the tower being the tallest, etc. has nothing to do with 9/11 as far as the commies are concerned. It’s all about attributing success and prosperity to the Abomination in Chief.
