Federal Inmate Keith Judd Receiving Sizable Percent of Vote in West Virginia Democratic Primary

Barack Obama was not the only Democrat on the ballot on Tuesday in West Virginia’s Democratic Presidential Primary. Keith Judd – also known as Inmate No. 11593-051 at the Federal Correctional Institution in Texarkana, Texas – was running against him.

Judd, who is serving out a 17.5 year sentence for extortion, currently has received 40 percent of the vote, with 83 percent of precincts reporting, according to The Associated Press. Obama currently has received 60 percent of the vote.

A further potential embarrassment for the Democrats, as The Charleston Gazette reports, Judd only needs 15 percent of the vote – which, indeed, it looks like he has accomplished – in order to be entitled to have at least one delegate represent him at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C. this summer.

If he were elected president, could he pardon himself?

OBTW: looking forward to the general election, how many electoral votes has West Virginia got?

Not many I suppose but every vote against Big O is a welcome one.

At least he’s in prison— that’s more than you can say for the “crooks” already in office. I’ll bet he’s one a them red neck Tbaggers that are taking over the government. One a them contract killers who are after Obama.

Wow, yes, he’s the perfect Democratic politician: he’s already in jail.

For example, the next stop for about half the governors of Illinois is prison. So this guy is ahead of the game. He’s made it there before even being elected.

I long for the Old Days, when a felony conviction reduced some of your rights.

Wellp, looks like they just voted for the guy with a public record.

    Voitin’ their convictions.

Voted for the guy who won’t choose Biden as a running mate.

Voted for the guy who wasn’t some Chicago crook.

I wonder if he can be his own delegate?

^ Wonder if he can get a furlough to go to the convention? And mingle with the other felons.

Wonder what he’s in for anyway?

If I were him, I would go ahead, hold a press conference and declare that if selected as the nominee I would be choosing Hillary as my running mate. Or Warren the 1/32 maybe-Indian.

Too bad BHO has the nomination all sewed up, he could barter his delegate(s) for a pardon.

Oh, so he’s in for extortion. Yep, he’s right at home in the Democratic party.

    Nice tidbits from the article:

Mr. Obama is deeply unpopular in West Virginia and was already certain to lose the small mountainous state in November. But the fact that enough people bothered to turn out in an uncontested primary to register a protest against the incumbent is telling.

“Just how unpopular does someone have to be for this to happen?” says Joe Pounder, research director and deputy communications director at the Republican National Committee, in a statement.

He notes that Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia wouldn’t say whom he voted for in the primary.

“Apparently, it’s a smarter political calculation to let people believe you may have voted for the guy in federal prison over the sitting president of your own party. Just saying,” Mr. Pounder writes.

West Virginia’s Democratic governor, Earl Ray Tomblin, has also not revealed his vote.
