After a poll released this week showed President Barack Obama only beating his Democratic primary opponent John Wolfe Jr. by seven points, 45 percent to 38 percent, in Arkansas’s Fourth Congressional District, state Democrats moved to practically disenfranchise Arkansas voters. “[D]elegates Wolfe might claim won’t be recognized at the national convention,” national party officials are telling state Democrats. Wolfe is being accused of not following the party rules.
“They want a coronation,” Wolfe tells THE WEEKLY STANDARD. “They’re conflating [Obama] with the party. Are we supposed to call him ‘Dear Leader’? Is this some kind of North Korea thing?”
Wolfe insists he’s done the due diligence to qualify for delegates and that the state party is making decisions ad hoc to get the results they desire. “This is ridiculous,” he says. “These guys are trying to tamp down voter enthusiasm.”
If he’s denied delegates he’s rightfully won, Wolfe says, Democrats would be effectively disenfranchising those who chose him over President Obama. And if that happens, he’ll take his own party to court.
“They took my money and put my name on the ballot,” he says. “They’re trying to make people think it’s hopeless to vote against Obama.”
Wolfe is also on the ballot for Texas’s primary on May 29. [more]

Y’know, I ain’t no birther. And I think it’s not a good thing for conservatives to pursue. It would be better to vote him out the old fashioned way. We don’t need a constitutional crisis, nor do we need a large segment of the population deciding that the constitution might as well be ignored at will (more than they already are, I mean)…
…but with all that said, two observations:
1) I’m no expert, but to me the documents produced scream “forgery,” which is an odd thing. If he was really born in Hawaii, why not just produce copies of real documents? Don’t they exist?
2) There doesn’t seem to be anything, and I do mean anything, about this guy that doesn’t seem like a fraud, or at least have a really odd ring to it. What’s up with that?
I’m not even being partisan here. Like I said, the thing to do is vote him out the usual way, or else we may weaken faith in our institutions. But wow, this is a very strange man….
(Oh, and I just wonder if maybe during his years in education he might have been posing as a foreign student, and getting some scholarships, or privileges or something based on this. Kind of like Harvard’s white Indian. If so, it would look kind of bad if this came out before the election.)
(Going forward, ever state ought to have a clear birth verification procedure built into both the primary and general election candidate registration process; but the thing now is to clean up the current mess as neatly as possible.)

Fix bayonets. Guard the ballot boxes and voting machines with your life. Nobody so much as touches them without at least two people present from each party. Volunteer to be a poll watcher and don’t let party hacks from either party deny you with their usual “Pooh pooh, nothing to worry about.”
Nobody votes without photo ID and if i had my druthers, purple dye on the finger after voting.

The problem is, they have control of the DOJ so they can’t be prosecuted. But after a Republican takes over, they wouldn’t be so *impolitic* as to prosecute their predecessor… so the Dems virtually always get away with it.

And another way to look at it might be that to ignore such a blatant “F.U.” of a “proof” would be to ignore the Constitution…. The “mess”, while painful, might be worth holding that line.

Nah, Claire, you’re good. I though about those things too, and I could easily argue that side of it. You could be right, and I am so very tired of seeing the naves, frauds, and blackguards* getting away with it.
One of the problems is that these assholes keep getting away with it, partly, as Merovign points out, because Republicans are much too nice and civilized to prosecute them.
I don’t know, I think there’s a good chance I’m right, but there’s a good chance I’m wrong.
And like it or not, the damned near impervious shield of the race card comes into play here. How’d our society ever evolve from “guilty by virtue of being black” to “innocent by virtue of being black?” Wouldn’t it be grand to have a color blind society & justice system? But it appears we don’t; just not in the way the progs claim we don’t.
The nations best bet may be to investigate, hound and prosecute the enablers of the current administration, many of whom could be proved to not have the plausible deniability of the guys on top. It might cut down on this kind of thing in the future if enablers had more to worry about. Uh… okay, I might have said that somewhere already, so I’m going to quit here.

^ Yeah. See, that’s sorta where I’m going. I think that a rigorous investigation of some of his claims (and what he got from them) might possibly have him in a no-win-no-win situation, where his endless lies catch up with him and he’s in hot water no matter which way he hops….
…the bottom line, including all that “born in Kenya” stuff that was around well into the last decade, is that he will say absolutely anything, the only really certain thing is that it’s not likely to be the truth, and that there may be actual felonies involved.
