the whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan%

In comparison to rape, perpetrating mass murder, or other terrible things, street demonstration is relatively less traumatic – however trauma is very much an individual thing and people can be severely affected [sic] by imprisonment, gassing, beatings by police, betrayal, or even unexpected behavior by comrades or the state. We can mourn little things as well as big things and it’s healthy and we should. Spending time in the ‘sad space’ intentionally allows us to delve deeper into the things we need to heal and we can gradually recover memories that may have been blacked out in order to cope at an earlier stage in life. Many people, many activists were imprisoned or held captive or felt that way through childhood and schooling. There is much to mourn and it’s healthy

    Caption for the Breitbart photo:

“Does uzzums need a big hug?”

    “… severely affected [sic] …”

What’s with the “[sic]“????? Was that editor thinking “effected”?

The linked article, Trauma and Healing that has this bit:

“… people can be severely effected by imprisonment, gassing, beatings by police, betrayal, or even unexpected behavior by comrades or the state.”

That seems to be the source. (When you add “[sic]“, you’re supposed to leave the error as is – “sic” is short for “sicut”, which means “that’s the way [the idiot wrote it].)

If one of these OWS cretins comes in and complains of PSTD, they should ask him which Afghanistanian or Iraqi firefight he was in. If the answer is a blank stare, get somebody to apply their size-14s to his rear and propel him out the door.

It’s also interesting to note the use of “comrades”. Probably a holdover from the Old Soviet Union.

A clear misdiagnosis. The little green-haired bastard doesn’t have PTSD…it’s regular old PMS.

Unfortunately, I know a little bit about Trauma, PTSD, Complex-PTSD,
EMDR-therapy, etc. I can glance up on my bookshelf where I have
4 of the best & latest books on Trauma & Trauma Therapy, by the best
peeps in the field! So I have a little smidgeon of smarts ’bout trauma!

The whole OWS “OMG, we’re all being traumatized for life by the evil
1% & if you don’t stop traumatizing us, we’ll cry & sob & fear doom”
schtick seems to be a new mass tactic to gain emotional public
sympathy, plus create something the MSM can exploit forever.

Those 2 unauthored & uncited, ‘Responding to Trauma’ & ‘Crisic fact
sheet’ documents are skillfully written & very professional sounding.
However there is so much self serving, pathetic, psychopathological,
exaggerated BS, much of which is suggestive to exploit victimization,
that I suspect a greater agenda & future scam about to begin.

Hundreds of therapists & lawyers will be able to milk this mass
traumatization for bazillions of dollars, which will provide them with
business & money for a long time! Then the leftist media & radicals
will be able to blame the 1% for ‘traumatizing all these innocent kids’.
Then all the OWSers will have lifelong excuses & be able to ‘blame’
all their problems & failures on the evil 1%, Tea Party, Repubs, etc.
I almost have to admire them for such a brilliant plan & campaign!

    tantrum ≠ trauma ≠ PTSD
tantrum = failure of a spoiled brat to get its way

Lance: Good points! The other thing is, if they can get a disrespectable MD or Shrink to certify the PSTD, they just might be eligible for state-funded treatment.

Oh whoinhel didn’t feeeel imprisoned in school? rly? Or were you the kid who cried out “You forgot to give us hoooomework!!!”

Here’s my well considered professional intervention:

Have a nice hot shower [and, dear heavens above, a shave] Then a nice samich and a glass of milk and a quiet lie down.

Then get a job and a Life.

IOW: Get the hell over it and cope.

Lance, you nailed it. These are Therapists preying on the weak of mind and the strongly determined to victimhood.

I always thought [sic] was short for “sic em!”

Fortunately, Bruiser didn’t speak Latin either. I only [sic]-ed him once (other than in training), and that was on a full-grown Holstein bull who had me cornered and meant to do me damage. Bruiser looked at me with this expression that said, “Really?! I can bite him for realz?!” And I said, “Yes, sic-em!” That was all I needed to say. Straight for the throat he went.

The bull threw him (while he was attached to his throat), spinning, for about 15′ through the air with just a flick of his head, but Bruiser landed on his feet and was back for more in a blink. Now the two looked like boxers sizing each other up. A 1,200 lb. bull and a 160 lb. dog. Dodging, feinting, probing.

I called him off (the MOST important part of Schutzhund training), and there was no harm done, and I got myself out of the corner in the meantime. I’d call it a draw.

    I still miss that dog…
