They work fine, last a long time, and when you pull the trigger, it goes “bang.” But they don’t spin my prop like owning guns that were once pointed at me. (Makarovs, CZ-50/70/82s, Tokarevs, etc.)

I’m still roaringly pissed about how Roberts bent over for the left.
we need to remember that he was appointed because he was one acceptable to the commie weenies in the Senate, not because he was the first choice of Bush.
This underscores, yet again, the importance of having a conservative congress.
You’ll also notice how there’s not a peep from ANYONE about how Kagan should have been recused because she served as Solicitor General when the rape of The Constitution known as Obamacare was being written behind doors closed even to Congress.
Pissed ain’t the word.

However, even with her out, the vote would have been 4-4 and left the law standing.

Here’s mine, a 1916-commercial, so it isn’t a beat-up issue piece — only has holster wear and came with four boxes of WWII-issue ammo with 20-rnds gone. I bought it from a WWII-Korea artillery officer, and he bought it from an officer when he was commissioned, so I’m guessin’ it was originally an Academy-graduation piece. Dunno, and I ain’t payin’ Colt to find out. Don’t really care.

As a student of history, Rep. West must know that most of the gun laws of early Americn states dealt with requiring able bodied men of a certain age to equip themselves with a firearm, powder and shot.
Those who objected as a matter of conscience were subject to a tax in place of spending their money on arms.
THAT has much better historical precedent than the PPACA.

I admit that the Glock is one ugly gun. Never did strike my fancy until a friend brought one to the range and I shot it. It fit’s my hand like a glove and I like how simple it was to work, went and bought a Model 19 two days later.
I always tell new shooters “don’t buy what someone says, buy what you like, what fit’s your hand, something you can hit with”.
Yea, I got a Glock and I love it. But I also have two .45′s.
I keep one .45 close to the bed every night. If I can only get one round off I want it to count. Thank you Samuel Colt.

Call me a faggot, but I like the .38 Lady Smith by S&W. It fits right in your hand, and it will deliver 6 rounds in about 2 seconds. If you ain’t hit it by then, then maybe you shouldn’t even be owning a pistol.
The nice thing about revolvers is that they don’t leave any shell casings lying about. And they’re as dependable as John Fucking Wayne.

Hog, I’ll call you a lot of things. “Faggot” ain’t one of them. But I thought the LadySmith was a “J-frame” with five shots. If you wanted six shots of .38, you went for the Colt “Detective Special” if you didn’t mind things like the cylinder turning backwards.
Don’t know about 8-shot .357s. If 8 rounds of .357 won’t solve the problem, then maybe the problem can’t be solved. And I will freely admit that 5 rounds of .357 in a row is about all this candy-ass can handle. (Smith 640 / Ruger SP-101)

Yes Colt “O” or Smith ‘K’ frames. I grew up with them and AMERICA is stamped on them.
Yes I know alot of 1911s are made in China, Philippines, Brazil, etc… but one can look around and fine a few, usually original Colts, that are stamped MADE IN AMERICA. S&Ws are already so stamped.

Paul: A few months ago a friend invited me to go out and shoot his new Savage .450 ‘Brush Gun’. To say that it packed a ‘whallop’ would be an understatement. This was not the kind of weapon that you wanted to spend a day at the range shooting for fun. A few rounds were sufficient. More than, as it turned out…
A few hours later he was in intensive care for a heart attack. After a triple by-pass, and a couple of weeks later, he was fine.
But I’m still not sure if I want to go shootin’ with him no more.
And God Bless America again!

My original carry piece in ’93 was Walter PPK/S, but that was in FL, and the steel frame was heavy and pulled my shorts down around my knees jumping onto the dock. Replaced that with a Colt Mustang Pocketlite .380 which became my polite-society gun. (The new Sig 238 is very similar.)
These shrouded-hammer S&W revolvers are almost perfect general-purpose carry pieces, if you can live with 5-rounds. The .38 is super-light, but the .357 is not significantly bulkier. Hey, if you can’t solve it with a .357mag, a handgun is not the solution.
For “Injun country,” I carried the Kimber 1911 until arthritis prevented my thumb from hitting the thumb safety reliably. Went to a double-action M&P 45. S&W just came out with the M&P Shield, a narrower and lighter, single-stack version in a .40. That’s my all-purpose carry piece, now (well, it will be as soon as I can find a decent holster for it).
Yay, Show and Tell! Most difficult to shoot for me is my Judge…… .410, snub nose, flew clear out of my hand the first time! Changed to after market, bigger grips…. Better now but talk about Kick!
