Surely it warrants a few bonus points because it’s also on a dimmer switch in the bathroom with the clawfoot tub?
Oh….and I bought this for a $1 today…for Alan and Patrick….

Well … as long as it’s in with the clawfoot tub.
Assuming it can’t actually fall into the tub.
Makes me want to shave with a straight razor while listenin’ to a guy wearin’ arm garters playin’ a piano downstairs.
The lamp would be fabulous on a black surface.
(Whaat?)
The light fixture, it’s…red
Ummm have to think about that one . The lamp isn’t that bad but not so sure about the round red thingy on the wall– as far as the the lamp shade it’s a much better fit for that lamp.
The red chandelier kinda makes me hungry and wondering where the melted butter is.
The dollar lamp was money well spent.
hm… I’m sensing a theme in that bathroom….
This is gonna be interesting….
Table lamp rawx. As does that little glass coaster!
I’m pretty sure Bela Lugosi would have liked the chandelier. Me, not so much.
Lamp’s nice, though.
The more I look at the table lamp, the better it gets.
It would be perfect on the black parson’s table next to my bed, given the bedroom’s black/gray/white motif.
Of course, then it would need a different shade, so …
Okay, never mind.
What is that black doodaa w 2 lights? In front of the new lamp(a good choice…) made from a *rare* stainless steel artillery shell.
In order:
Beyond gay
Regular gay
Also, the regular gay one looks like it’s just waiting to be tipped over. Be sure and keep an extra supply of twisty bulbs handy.
Hey, wiring is what it is.
That the light is on a dimmer and has a clawfoot tub underneath it – what more could you ask?
Well, I would paint the chain and the round thing where it goes into the wall? the same color as the wall – that would highlight the chandelier itself – y’know, for those times when using the dimmer with the tub &etc, is important ;-)))

We made a hanging chain lamp for our camp in the woods and we ran the chain and cord to the outlet instead of wiring it to the wall– if you can’t use a dimmer switch with that you could unscrew a few bulbs–it’s above the tub so you could put real candles in it instead of fake bulb candles. How about a picture of the whole room tub , chandelier and all–
In the “adapt for Christmas” category, it’s a ten out of ten. Just don’t wait until June to change the bulbs back.
At first glance, the little swirly light patterns above the chandelier looked like 666 to me.

A mini fridge next to the tub, to keep the champagne and chocolate dipped strawberries chilled and at hand, that’s what. ;)

That’s what ice buckets and servants are for.
In the Nevada Outback we have legal brothels. If you ever want to sell the chandelier, I could get you a good price here.
Love the lamp.
As long as the dimmer isn’t within reach of the tub, I would suggest a Hurricane as the beverage to go with the N’awlins motif. Or some gin based concoction.
The lamp is clean and simple, almost looks machined. I’ve never found table lamps practical myself but it doesn’t take up much horizontal real estate, so it gets a nod..
The chandelier is so not right over the tub! And the “red thing” went where the crappy stupid light fixture WAS until we get to the major re-wiring stuff so it could be hung and have power immediately because I just couldn’t wait….and there ain’t gonna be no wall painting for awhile until we get real work done…( and moving the freaking light switch to NOT behind the big door!
I think maybe most of you missed the parts where the house so isn’t even structurally finished and needs some fixing of the crazy….I’m just trying to make it fun and get the crap out of THIS house/garage and not laying all over the place at the other one while we get to more serious stuff……….
Mr. Colonel Jerry, SIR!!! It’s one of the speakers to my $35 MP3 stereo system :)
Wait, was the lamp $1 or the coaster?
My problems with most lamps is that they don’t actually produce much light. I know people talk about mood lighting, I’m *already* in a mood, I just can’t *see*.
Tell me that red thingy isn’t hooked up to a moose head on the other side of the wall.
Dear heart, given the …. “adaptive” construction by the previous owner, make sure the chandelier hanger over the tub is on a toggle bolt and not just screwed into the sheet rock, or better yet, put that circuit on a GFCI breaker.
I’d hate to read about you in the ‘Lympian.
The tippy lamp is not to my taste, but the ‘steel’ lampshade looks much better with the base than the previous one.
Don’t sweat the small stuff, just get the spaces working, then you can have fun making it into a home forever, little by little. For now, just let the ambience of the house and location soak in for a while, and things will crystalize into a plan. The place has a lot of potential – location, location, location!
Chandelier w/dimmer in the bathroom is sexy…
I sooo enjoy & appreciate the time, effort & consideration you put
into each of your decorating & furnishing projects!
What dick, NQDWG said ’bout a GFCI for the chandelier over the tub.
You might be able to find an electrician in the neighborhood who
could install it for you! I also like the chandelier light pattern on the
ceiling! I also like PeggyU’s (14) ideer ’bout the mini-fridge next to
the bashtub, plus her suggested contents!
The table lamp is really impressive, especially with those curtains!
I too am concerned about its stability! Posssibly a larger metal
disc, screwed or attached to the bottom of the base? If those
electrical/audio wires are gonna be permanent, there are round
plastic doohickies that will fit into a drilled hole for running the
wires under the table. They make the hole look like it was built
into the table surface. FWIW.
^ *I* know :)
FWIW and if in case no one noticed I hate bright lights….that kinda almost includes the sun too…
Just spent a week in hoodie sweatshirts, cowls and hats and even ear muffs to freaking 837465543423 f here in ‘Lympia.
Sigh…………..
Vacation…OVER………
Found a solid brass Craftsman lamp with an Amber glass shade for $40. Quite a steal, IYAM. Takes 2 40 watt bulbs and puts out the most lovely glow. Even Herself likes it!
I like the colors, shades (no pun intended) & tones in the bottom pic. The blend is pleasant & soothing.
^ The house has a lot of “industrial” to it….lots of metal and wood. I’m going in a direction with color that I’ve never gone before. Open and airy like the house…not a lot of knick knacky stuff….going for bold and as minimal as I can be :)
So I want all the accents to be spectacular! I’ve scored some incredible finds lately…
Air-DALE! An AmberLamp!!!!!!!!! I’m jelley!
I got a solid wood end table…a “Mission” style if you will for $10!!!!!!!!! to replace the crappy stupid one that was left behind. It matches the hand made ottoman thingy that I got at the local GoodWill perfectly…and with a hand made pad covered in zip off launderable denim for $20 about a month ago. To go with the leather chair.
That chandelier was given to me from a friend’s house when they updated. Cost us $4 for the paint and about $10 for parts and new wire. It’s perfect. I’ll take a better pic next time I’m up there and you’ll see.
I’m vicariously enjoying your adventure as I continue on my own which should take the next step officially this week.
SondraK, you give me some enthusiasm and keep me guessing what may come next (the solution on the tub?)
At my Dad’s house (we finished new stucco this afternoon), the 130 year front door with full length oval window needed two guys to carry it out back for refinishing. After stripping it completely and applying a natural oil finish I carried it back to the front myself to re-install.
We joked that the weight was all the lead in the layers of paint. Hmmm, shoulda melted it down for bullets. . . too late now.
Juneau you sound like you mustard bean in ‘Laska or sumpin.
I’ll be posting my drone tub pics shortly, btw….
I hope you know I’m just kidding!! I love what you’re doing with the asylum and your home. It’s my favorite thing to do. I hate furniture store funeral home decorating. But that’s just me.
I’ll be posting my drone tub pics shortly, btw….
HAHAHA! TUA wins!
Sondra (29): really like your concept.
Just my theory, of course, but I think that kind of approach enables better thought flow.
Psychologically, a clogged, knick knacky, heavy color environment slows the mind down, leave you thinking few new thoughts. The kind you’re describing leaves room for your mind to soar, race, flow, think new thoughts. :-)
The table lamp is Poi-fect!
