~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Our dear sweet generous wonderful Melissa in Texas lost her job suddenly yesterday…
I know for a fact that she could use a little KisPian support….and I suspect perhaps a little help staying on her feet financially. If I recall correctly her living arrangements were also tied to her employment.
I’ll let her fill in the gaps and details as she sees fit but for now…any words of encouragement would be appreciated. And if any one cares to pitch in with any financial help you can do it through my PayPal
( put “Melissy” in the description ) or e-mail her for snail mail arrangements at:
pyrle125*AT*gmail*DOT*com
I think you could also transfer funds through PayPal to her e-mail address as well…but I’m not quite sure how that works.
Finish your assignment! »
I know I probably don’t need to mention this but I don’t recall Melissy EVER not contributing generously to any of our KisPian endeavors of every kind throughout the years…
    This happened to my niece her husband,my son,his wife,and our daughter every one of them had 15- 20 or more years on the job. It took 2 years b/4 my nieces husband found work (they relocated) my niece was just hired full time where she was working part time. Our son has not been able to work because he injured his back at work and after seeing many Dr.s they agree there isn’t anything more they can do for him. His wife now has a great job. Each of them had just gotten a promotion and the next thing they knew they were laid off. Escorted out the door and their personal things delivered to their homes. They were made to feel like criminals. My son was an assistant engineer, his wife a store manager,our niece was in sales in a label making factory,her husband was a shift boss in a foundry. While all this was going on with our son and his wife our youngest daughter was being treated for cancer. Our other daughters partner and father of her 3 year old daughter died in his sleep. She lost her job as a manager of the air port here when the air line pulled out. All of them were making a good wage and dependable hard workers. They all had some rough times but they’ve all prevailed. As you will to Melissa.
    geezerette…Escorted out the door and their personal things delivered to their homes. They were made to feel like criminals.
    THAT was the worst part.
    My boss was like, “We need to reconcile your petty cash and make sure it is all there.”
    my statement to him was,
    “Well honey that is a good thing, because petty cash owes me money!”
    I got my box of belongings yesterday.
    I received a phone call from another long term manager yesterday whom I have worked with from afar and he was expressing his shock at my termination, as I almost ALWAYS beat my budget and occupancy numbers. In fact, my property has carried the district in sales and leasing many times.
    *shakes head*
    as an old friend of mine said yesterday…
    makes it kinda hard to be a damned capitalist when an eeevil corporation does this ;)
    I feel for you Melissa because I’ve seen it first hand and I know what the family went thru. It’s hard to get a grip on it because there are so many things in your life tied to your job. Take a good rest so when the dust settles you can pull up those snazzy boots and kick ass again.
    Hope your successor is a miserable failure.
    Hang in there. It gets better.
    Ripley’s. believe it or not.O:-)
  21. Posted July 19, 2012 at 8:17 am |
    It won’t be much comfort, but at least these days there’s no stigma attached to being suddenly terminated from employment. Used to be that people would wonder what someone did wrong to get “fired.” Now, people correctly take for granted that another good person got thrown into the meatgrinder of this economy.
    Hang in there, Melissa!
    That will get you moved to the top of the lay-off list by a lot of managers.
    I am sorry to read this, Melissa! Is there a site that lists job openings in conservative-owned businesses? It would be somewhat reassuring to know that your ideology isn’t going to result in turbulence in the workplace.
    MiT, sent a small bit of help, I’m all the way up to broke after #2 cleaned me out. I understand how it feels to have the “stool” kicked out from under you when you least expect it. I still have a job in an industry that’s declining in an economy that’s declining at the same time. I keep my political views to myself on the job no matter how hard it is to hold back on some of the loons. Prayers for your quick recovery.
    Stilton, wish I’d said what I said the way you said it.
    Didn’t think there was any misbehavin’ on Melissa’s part, just that she was the just the first one thrown to the wolves when the sleigh started to slow down.
    (Dammit Melissa, I TOLD you I wasn’t any good with words in a situation like this.)
    Melissa, first of all NUTZ!
    And 2nd of all, what Satan intends for bad God is always going to replace with good ala rickn8or #19.
    Over the the first 5 years I was in Florida, every other month I was looking for something. I was fried out and I was on my 5th mid life crisis and I was 48!!!! Any way had it NOT been for all the years of knowing God and Christ as my rock and fortress I would have caved. And the family of God from New Covenant Church was always there to help me and as Jesus said ‘Freely you received so freely give.’ And yes as Sondra noted you have helped others and your are loved and appreciated.
    Watch for a beautiful change to come and in the meantime: lock and load baby and go kick some ass out of the demon forces with prayer and with actions. You are sharp and you are a very competent lady. We’ll all be hanging with you.
    I might be late for this but I only found out recently tht if you apply for a PayPal ‘card’ people can make direct deposits to the card instead of you bank or whatever. You fill out a bank routing card with PayPal and they make the direct deduction from that and there are no fees.
    I learned tht i can go to PayPal go to the send money choice then to amount and to whom–as gift– and zero charges PLUS the person get the email immeadiately and their card is debited immeadiately too. I find that pretty easy.
    I think you have my email M so let me know if yor set up like that if not I’ll go through Missys.
    O Tay;o)
