What super power would you choose?
All the classics have already been done: flying, x-ray vision, super strength. Gotta come up with something new.

Mine? The ability with 7 words or less to have someone see and fully comprehend every mistake of fact or thought in any argument they advance. [the joy of this super power would be I could use it on ME first.]

Deliver tomorrow’s newspaper to me today.
Lay golden eggs.
O would some power the giftie gie us to see ourselves as others see us.
— Robert Burns
Oh, wait, no! Not that!
I want to be shielded from reality by a delusional world view.
(What? Really? Bein’ a Democrat is a super power?)
Dunno G-ette, I can`t imagine you sitting on a straw nest for half a day; yanno?
Wait! Does that mean some of us (…no names, natch…) have to come up with a second Super Power?
A super imaginary invisible *pkew*…
The ability to make someone’s tongue blow up to 23776.3 times it’s normal size and turn green when they are lying.
The ability to literally beat sense into people. It would not only be useful, it would be highly satisfying!
L’ngs I have a couple good books I could sit in a straw nest.
Would that big tongue go with the long nose? Or do some get the nose and some the tongue? Don’t you dare!!!
Super Swollen Tongue Woman & her corgi pal, zip-yer-lips! Marvel Comics….

Seven words? Do you see this clue by four?
The ability to put the world on pause – to freeze everything in time. Except me. I can go on about my business while everything else is in a state of suspended animation.
This would allow me to catch up on everything I am behind in.

That’s gonna cause the oceans to shlosh around a lot.
I always thought teleportation would be awesome. Be anywhere with a thought. No walls could stop me, no prison could hold me. The temptation to use this for evil would be very great…. and I’m not talking about mundane things like stealing stuff. That’s small thinking. You could decide who runs the world with that one ability.
Other than that, the ability to see one day into the future would be very handy. I loved the concept of the show “First Edition” a few years ago about a guy who mysteriously got tomorrow’s newspaper every morning. Great idea, not well executed.
By speaking a single magic word 3 times, cause anyone I was talking to, either in person or on the phone, to instantly be afflicted with permanent, irreversable and total amnesia; such that they even forget how to speak, walk or control their bowels.
In short, bust their operating system down to DOS.
Walk between the worlds.
Maybe even drive, eh?
Supernova Boy!
He can only do it once!
Doug – What’s a little tsunami now and then, as long as I get my housework and paperwork caught up? Sheesh. Some perspective, man!
^^ PeggyU ^^ If you haven’t already (or even if you have) I would suggest reading The Girl, The Gold Watch & Everything by John D. MacDonald. A very fun read by one of the great detective novelists, who takes a vacation from his usual genre (the Travis McGee series) with this one.
I’ve read almost all of JD Mac Donald’s books — now I have to get this one– thinkin’ I might have read it– ??? too many books to remember –
