I try every day to remember those great early Americans who helped “give birth” to this great nation.
^ Betcha do it while you’re working :)
I go into labor for 8-10 hours a day if I am having a good run and gov’t isn’t interfering with how I get the job done. Maybe I have the right to tell em to keep their laws off of my paycheck.
Speaking of labor, my lil sister gave birth to her third son this morning. 36 (or 37?) nieces and nephews now.
…and as any city comes further under control of Big Labor, and its friends, loses its soul and dies.
Welcome to Detroit.
Uncle PatrickP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your family gatherings must be Uh-May-Zing!!!
Guess I should plan something fun.
Labor Day: when an unproductive Friday & Monday don’t count.
#4 Patrick P. — All that begating makes happy families. Congratulations on all of your nieces and nephews. The Mr.’s grand parents begated 12 children and all of them have begated what is now 100s and still going. We are family!!
Usually, normally, almost always Population Control is in effect on the nation`s highways over Labor Day. With gasoline over 4 bucks a gallon, not so much this weekend—————so there`s that…
Think of the changes since the first Labor Day celebration.
At least it’s a Holiday that I don’t have to prepare for, or seriously contemplate….. just bar b que and relax.

#13 Mr. DougM Melissa and many others know how true that is.

Yep, can’t avoid stepping on somebody’s toes every time we make a comment, so I try to trod gently around topics that may have direct personal pain. I know our temporarily unemployed KisPers are tough enough (i.e. not super-sensitive whiney victimists) to appreciate the ironic humor, here. I sincerely hope that it isn’t prophetic for another unsuspecting Porch Minkee™ next week.
I hope they all know I was not only being empathetic but sympathetic.
When I think Labor I think of the way the Communists have tried twice in the last two years to force me into the union without a vote or a say so of any kind.
Now I gotta go and puke.
I heard a guy (SEIU union guy) complaining today because he has to work this weekend. That’s part of his job. Every other weekend he has to work so the other guy can have the weekend off.
Boo. Friggin’. Hoo.
