Reminds me of the cover that “Time” Magazine put just after the surrender of Japan – showed a large red disk with a black “X” slashed across it on a white background with no type other than the title, “Time”, and the date. “Time” is not as bad as “Newsreek” (a combination of “The Nation” and “People” Magazines) but it’s getting there – haven’t read either of them for years.

It was 1945, and Jingoism was in bloom.
Written by a civ or an Army puke, looks like – it uses “Jap” instead of the more Marine-ish “Nip”…

We won’t have the print edition of Newsweek to kick around any more.
The Magazine of
NewsNo Significance. We still have the New York Times, though. Suitable for framing, or training puppies …
This one cracked me up:

(What? No, the last two headlines in the lower left-hand corner.)
THAT’S SO LACIST!!
As of the date on the magazine cover, exactly 16 days.
Or, in Japanese … Newsreek.
Hesitating on making “yellow journalism” comment.
^ OWIE DOUG AND MECH!
( As I logged in I was trying to figure out how to say “Newsweek” in ching chong :)
Or, in Chinese: Newsleak.
Or, in Russian: Pravda.
HORRY CLAP!!!

An even closer correlation, then.
