    A pot holder?

    A toast cozy?

    A tablet screen cover?

    A jeep mirror curtain?

If you send that to me, I will give it to the cats and let them pronounce judgement upon it.

When I first started knitting I’d start off with relaxed stitches and after a few rows I could hardly get the needles thru the stitch– and my jaws hurt from clenching my teeth—suppose to be relaxing– save this so you can look back at it and have a laugh for yourself–or you could put some purtty stuff on it and hang it on the tree— or a blanket for that poor dead rat in his casket–

geezerette…I have 3 books of dishcloth patterns…2 are for when I start learning how to knit. This one looked like a good basic pattern for crochet. I have a bit of Arthur Itus in my hands from punching stuff hard for so long so they’re kinda cramping up and sore but I’m determined! I found myself clenching my teeth a couple times too…and holding my breath.

    Yea, I’m self-taught :)

    ^ Bwahahahahah!

    Sondra – Go to knitty.com or ravelry.com.
More patterns than you can shake a crochet hook at.
Ravelry even has an *adults only* pattern section, which is a bit alarming, but which might entertain Hog.

My mom crowshetted — I hated to– I knitted and she hated to—betwix the two we goterdone. I can’t stand following a pattern or a recipe — knit a “nap throw” the pattern was k-4 p-4 for 4 rows next was p-4 k-4 to make squares– by the time I was done I never wanted to count to 4 again— and never made another— I’m sure you’re using cotton yarn— I found out the other yarns and c-floss — don’t absorb as good–and don’t launder as good–

geezerette…I realized last night while trying to count to figure out where I kept going wrong that knitting will be PERFECT for me because I’m one of them OCD superstitious counter people and have been concentrating on NOT counting stupid stuff like scoops of flour out of the bag when filling jars and stuff……. :)

It’ll also help me not feel like I always have to do 10 things at once which is part of this whole knitting/crochet plan.

Knitting: I do it for my blood pressure. If that doesn’t work, at least I have something to stab and/or strangle with.

OK, I axe the Squirrel —-That rock looks interesting, what’s special about it? Please?

  33. Posted October 4, 2012 at 2:50 pm |

It’s not really a rock. It’s a wood burl. They’re even harder to knit than rocks.

  34. geezerette
    Posted October 4, 2012 at 2:58 pm |

O.K. Thanks Sqvuril—–I like it whether it’s a rock or a wood burl. I’m glad you told me it was harder to knit ’cause now I won’t try that.

No, but a ‘nut cozy’ sure helps to keep them warm in the winter.
