Oh, deer!

[Caution: spew alert]

Sooo,

are allowed to live in North Dakota? [full story]

Personally, I think they should fund a program to train deer to look both ways before bounding across a highway.

(What? No, I don’t know if it’s a real story, or if it’s just the funniest skit I’ve herd all day.)

    The buck stops here.

They could build taxpayer funded overpasses.

Ain’t they herd of crossing guards?

Right you are Paul; I always wondered how the deer know to cross where the signs are.

    Airbags. Deer need airbags.
Could we get a government grant, do you think?

Cowcatchers oughta work on deer, doncha think?
‘Sides, I’m tired of cars that look like sport shoes and jellybeans.
    Bring back cowcatchers!

    ^ dick,
Nah, antlers get hung up in the slots.
    Need somethin’ like a snowplow.

Actually, there are three places on my normal routes where I regularly see deer crossing of an evening. They seem to travel in threes, so I always go into windshield-preservation mode when I see one.
    No crossing signs, though.
I wonder if they ever get a ticket.

    #4 PeggyU,

Instead– get a grant to breed them with reindeer so they can fly over the roads, making it safer for all.

Between Wells and Jackpot Nevada, on highway 93, there were so many deer vs car accidents, that the state put up
deer overpasses. Fences go out in a v shape sever hundred yards to force the deer to use them. I have no idea what they cost, but I hope they were built with money from obama’s stash.

Not a day goes by at this headquarters when a couple dozen Black-tail deer wander through or graze in my back yard. Same goes for wild turkeys.

I keep a water tank full of fresh water, just off my back deck. Why? Because I see a personal *food supply*, in case the *ballon* ever goes up and grocery stores run out popcorn and beer! County folks here are highway smart about deer and one rarely sees a dead deer along the roads…. (…couple years ago, a turkey flew across the road in front of Otis, my cartoon car. I was going 45mph when it hit. Guess what? A beat up pickup behind me, quickly pulled over and chucked the turkey in the pickup bed! Free food————–)
