I don’t see this as a loss for HRC. And I don’t see a positive outcome for Obama.
1. She took responsibility. Responsibility is part of true authority. These are leadership traits. Not saying she is a leader, but this certainly looks like leadership, and can go a long way with spin towards “when I say I’m not responsible I am not responsible”. Poorly worded, hope yous guys can make it out.
2. Obama looks weak. These two are not friends. Even if Obama claims responsibility now, it looks like damage control.
She took responsibility, not blame. Carefully parsed statement from an experienced lawyer.

Ouch indeed. And it’s pretty clear that Zero intends to throw her under the bus.
But: he’s an amateur. This woman is an expert in thriving on humiliation.
So now we have a role reversal: it is actually Hillary who is throwing Obama under the bus here.*
It is a clever, though risky, move. As others** have noted:
+ she actually takes responsibility for very little, while appearing to be Brave and Responsible to those who don’t think much;
+ she makes Zero look weak by comparison;
+ it keeps alive her possibilities in 2016 — unless some VERY hard evidence is found and seriously publicized, this entire matter will become defanged for her in the future, and may even (shudder) be an asset.

logdogsmith, she’s pretty much had authority and responsibility, but no accountability, so her throwing herself on this grenade is pretty much a symbolic gesture. And Susan Rice gets to deal with the blowback from the Intel community.
If Obama DOES somehow win the election after swapping in Hillary, the next staff position he needs to fill is that of Food Taster. And he’ll never find an agent that will sell him a life insurance policy.
Hillary doesn’t get thrown under buses (see post below).

Not sure they have that option now. There’s these 50 sticky wickets about getting on state election ballots by certain dates. The only way this could happen is if Biden died before the election and they needed a replacement ASAP.

At the moment Barry 0 needs not only “her filthiness”, her husband and all of the Clinton friends if he thinks he has any shot at re-election. So there will be no calls for resignations.
Politically speaking her taking blame/ responsibility she has no down side. She only wanted the credentials of her SoS office anyway, he won’t ask her to resign and come hell or high water she’s out of there come January anyway. She said as much when she took the job.
She knows the typical American voters memory is shorter than MY dick (as compared to Hillary’s) too. And no matter who win the election in 2012 she WILL be on the democrat ticket in 2016.
That, my friends, will be the dirtiest presidential race EVAH!
