“Who you believe, the AMA, me?”

… a key committee of the American Medical Association just endorsed the use of “defined contribution” plans as a reform path for Medicare — the very same mechanism contained in Paul Ryan’s plan

Actually, on health care, retirement, etc. I think most of us are pretty well screwed for the rest of the century no matter who wins in November*.

The only difference will be the sort of and degree of screwing we get.

    * No, that’s not an anti-Romney remark. There are some pretty grim realities here, partly due to 12 years (at least) of runaway government spending, inflationary gov policies, etc. Previously saved retirement dollars aren’t gonna be worth piss, and there’s nothing anyone can do about it. The same for healthcare dollars.

Does the lock committee know about this?

Soon we should hear about the key committee being whipped into submission shape.

Hey, Joe. Your Bob Dole impression with the pen?
Yeah, well Bob Dole had a good reason for doin’ that.
Had to do with, you know, invading Italy.
