Well, it only seems fair that the yutes youths have no future since they supported Obamacare and the deficits with their votes. Who needs full time work when a higher income might mean you will be forced to pay for, either directly or indirectly, an expensive, full service insurance policy which will mainly benefit those in the older generations who are sitting on your jobs?

Actually, let me rephrase that. I have a great deal of sympathy for good people who can’t find a decent job but none for the kiddies who tried so hard to saw off the tree branch they were sitting on by electing the empty chair..

For those of us Salaried Folks, it’ll be more like the same 50 hour work week, only now Based on 28 hrs of pay. Mark my words.

Take the American tourist$$$$$$ out of that picture and who’s left?
The mediterranean 3 hour lunch crowd, the civil servants skipping work having lunch meetings and civil servants who retired at age 50.

I had a thought about the ‘missing’ 3 million votes and looked up some census data.
Middle class Americans, whom I think are the heart of the Republican party, have had fewer and fewer children over the past fifty years, while the older part of them are dying off. White middle class Americans are falling below replacement rate, while illegals and blacks are increasing.
For a while, the demographics worked for Republicans as the New Deal Democrats reached the end of the line. The ones still with us are in their 90′s or more now. The WW2 generation is dropping like flies and the Vietnam generation is headed over the hill. People who were in their 40s during Reagan’s time in office are in their 70s.
Granted, many of them were Democrats, but Republicans are not attracting (or breeding) young people to fill the ranks at the beginning of adulthood at the rate the Dems do.
According to government mortality tables, more than 4 million people over the age of 60 died in 2010 and 2011. 2012 data are not yet available, but extrapolating, we can estimate at least 2 million Republicans have died since the 2010 elections, and given government school indoctrination and minority birth rates, they have not been replaced. I’ll betcha a lot more of the dead Dems voted than Repubs too.

^^ regarding the “missing 3+ million votes” I keep thinking back to the last Presidential election the involved the Chicago Machine, and a river with ballots in it. This time they just didn’t try replacing them with fakes, they’re just gone. There were just too many reports durring early voting of record #’s of republicans voting (and waiting for hours to do so happily) for me to just accept that we didn’t GOTV (which I personally think is stupid – if you can’t be bothered to register or show up you don’t take the time to learn about who/what you are voting on & I really wish everyone would ignore them completely)

Is all that coffee and T free? That’s right they are the Civil Servants.

Of course they cheated. And the GOP will do nothing about it.

Get ready for Obama claiming to have created tens of millions of jobs because everyone has two work two 28-hour jobs with no benefits just to pay for gas and food.

What’s that guy doing in the photo? The one with the apron and the tray in his hand.

    He’s not …. working …. is he?

    Oh, the humanity!

It must be a gov. owned coffee shop and he’s a civil servant. When he has is 4 hrs in he’ll join the rest of the civil servants.

    # 5, mojo,

Showed that to my lady friend, she was shocked, especially when she started mousing over all the different tickers. Shameful!

I’m fighting with everything in me not to become aBitter Old Woman [BOW™]. More cynical? Hell yeah. Bring it on. It’s a survival skill. But bitter – No.

    Bitterness is Surrender.

So I remind myself of kidz like my Lovely Daughters the Younger and Elder. Working meh jobs (one, regular double-shifts) but with an eye on career advancement thru whatever they can make up and figure out.

They are not unique. Not even in our “snug little Progressive county” as one local historian hysterian put it. [*running cupcakes*]

Also there may be some fairly conservative and undoubtedly brave and skilled folks with some eye-opening experiences under their belts returning from the sand countries who may have something to say about all this.

We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender, and even if, which I do not for a moment believe, this island or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our Empire beyond the seas, armed and guarded by the British fleet, would carry on the struggle, until, in God’s good time, the New World, with all its power and might, steps forth to the rescue and the liberation of the old.

    We ARE our New World.
