So is he forever disqualified from testifying next week about Benghazi (I forgot that he was CIA director).
There are already questions about the timing of this event.

I find it noteworthy that an extramarital affair demands the the CIA head must resign, but for the likes of a sitting Senator like Bob Menendez, not so much.
Or a former sitting President, for that matter.

This gets curiouser and curiouser.
Of course any CIA member [much less Director] cannot be compromised — might be blackmailed, donchanoo.
But this affair seems to have started before he was Director — or even being considered. So any BG check would have revealed it…
IF this is the case…
FBI agents on the case were aware that such a decision had been made to hold off on forcing him out until after the election and were outraged.
“The decision was made to delay the resignation apparently to avoid potential embarrassment to the president before the election,” an FBI source says. “To leave him in such a sensitive position where he was vulnerable to potential blackmail for months compromised our security and is inexcusable.”*
…this is deeper than may have been thought. Or this…
At some point after Petraeus was sworn in as CIA director on Sept. 6, 2011, the woman broke up with him. However, Petraeus continued to pursue her, sending her thousands of emails over the last several months, raising even more questions about his judgment.
… Which, true or not [g'head: prove it] may preclude his testimony on Benghazi-gate, which, if I recall a’right, was a CIA affair. *cough*
Which is why no CIA member must ever be compromised…

^Doug (4) how deep and dark these waters are.
Everything about Commander Benghazi, from his origins to his associates, to elections to finances, to foreign relations to executive orders, to ignoring the Constitution….and on and on, ad infinitum, are deep and dark and cold as the Marianas Trench.
No administration has ever had so many opaque goings on as this cabal of thieves, crooks and traitors.

It didn’t take the FBI long to investigate what he was doing in his personal life–they still haven’t found out what happened in Benghazi— anyway— like in the case of our ex President — who cares it’s just sex—- all the other accusations were just trailer trash— the truth is stranger than fiction— if you were to write a book about what’s happened in this country in the last four years no one would believe it——–I hear the sound of cloven hooves approaching—-

Good alternative scenario… suppose Petreaus had been bumping uglies with PFC Bradley Manning? Then he’d have Julian Assange and Lady Gaga on his side. Such a triumvirate would be unbeatable!
