A Bremerton police officer was hit by a wave of pot smoke when he approached a car at Bachman Park in Manette Wednesday afternoon, according to reports.
The officer was called there shortly before 5 p.m. when someone reported hearing a loud argument. When the officer approached a car there, a door opened and “a plume of smoke came billowing out,” according to a police report.
A man in the front seat of the car said that after Tuesday’s election, pot is legal. “We saw it on the news,”…

Pot should be legal… but driving under its influence is not.
There is a lot of good high (no pun intended) octane bud out there. Perhaps it should be legal, like Everclear.
Sure glad I outgrew that after a couple of times in high school, life is so much easier when you aren’t hiding something.
Now comes the problem of determining level of intoxication. Well, not my problem, unless I drive on the same roads as the dopers.
This is what I heard from a talking head when discussing this topic. “It’s fine as long as everyone who uses is of age and responsible”.
I’m waiting for the people with the lined pockets to go after the people with the full pockets.
Dood… it’s like, sometimes the man… cause whenever I’m all like… and then..
dood…
Now, free pot will be an entitlement, just like contraceptives.
Taxpayers will be compelled to buy dope and sexual accessories for those who just can’t be bothered to earn it for themselves. And if they’re using pot, they probably can’t be bothered to do much of anything.
Is this a great country or what? Well… not for the industrious, but what else would those board-up-the-butt suckers do with their money otherwise? Create jobs for dopers? What’s the point?
“The officer informed the man that Initiative 502 doesn’t go into effect until Dec. 6, and even then it won’t be legal to smoke marijuana in a city park….The man, who was also the subject of an arrest warrant for DUI, was taken to the Kitsap County jail.” – a drunk and a stoner (stewed and toasted): in such hands are the future of the Republic (we are so screwed).
Yeah, saw this came from a person I knew in HS who now resides in Seattle….
“Driving through Redmond the guys in the BMW in front of us are blatantly sharing a joint,ha!”
And I thought to my self… great driving while getting high, yeah that’s funny. This person doesn’t seem to be concerned about kids getting killed in an accident because of DUI, but they think kids will die from exposer in a parked car if it’s 70 degrees outside & don’t you dare leave your car running while parked in a parking lot with your windows down, cuz you’ll die from CO2 poisoning.
So everybody is now the choom crew.
What exciting times these are for Libertarians. Maybe some of them will get to do vital roof hits while the nanny state President they helped elect guts the Bill of Rights.
Where do I file my complaints about second-hand doobie smoke?
A lot of ‘lympians aren’t real bright. A lot of potheads aren’t real bright. Most ‘lympian potheads would be dumber than dirt.
I don’t see how this bill helps “legalize” it at all, what with the hair splitting over the amounts and qualities that define “legal”. I don’t see how this is going to cut down on crowded jails. The only thing I do see is that the state has another form of taxation. Whee!
….and they vote…..
I had a “Dave ain’t here man” picture in my head. And if you haven’t read the comments to the article, you’re really missing out on some fun.
As a sick-of-hippies Californian, I fully support other states legalizing pot for recreational use.
I fully expect within a year to be able to go to Santa Cruz and see the place a lot cleaner, safer, and more inviting.
When I heard that it’d passed I made myself howl for a couple hours imagining all the Lympians sitting around the local prog coffee shop sucking off the free wifi after going out to the alley for a blast and talking all about their new pot stores and how rich they were gonna get……….
But Dave’s not here, man.
People in WA have already been able to get permitted (no ? asked, i believe) to get medical marijuana from local dispensaries. I was at a gun dealer’s store earlier this year and in the same strip mall a MM dispensary had opened up. Poor guy had a problem with his store’s HVAC system having at least a partial link to the med pot store. I don’t know what will happen after all the legal battles, but right now if you sign up for this medical m permit, you surrender your right to purchase a handgun.
Re #2 comment, Everclear has been getting increasingly banned for sale in western states.
^^SondraK (18) Lympians sitting around the local prog coffee shop sucking off the free wifi after going out to the alley for a blast and talking all about their new pot stores and how rich they were gonna get………. while waiting for their electric cars to recharge at the free government plug.
Just wait until the first ‘Lympian gets busted with untaxed weed…
Prohibition spawned moonshiners which spawned NASCAR.
What are we going to call the new folk heroes that transport and sell untaxed weed?
What mainstream sports conglomerate will result from this?
Discuss.
#22 see #5—- What do you really think is behind it all? Follow the trail of crumbs to the candy house. First you say legal or free than you say— BUT– by than no body gives a crap as long as they can nibble nibble on your evil rich white guys house.
I don’t think the Obamites realize this: when dope is legal, selling it will be actual WORK, and there will be COMPETITION, driving down prices. I hate to use foul language, but it will be…a JOB. Legalization won’t buy them a ticket on the gravy train. It will knock the wheels off it.
Oh, and Ann Arbor already tried the legalize it but tax it thing years ago. Guess what? Nobody paid the tax.
Shocked I tell you!
Ann Arbor tried it——–now they are all “farming” up here in the U.P..
This from a friend:
It all makes sense now…gay marriage and marijuana being legalized on the same day.
Leviticus 20:13
If a man lays with another man he should be stoned.
^ PeggyU: That was brilliant!
