it’s Turkey Time!
Lotsa cookin’ to be done. Better do this first:
1 stick unsalted butter, softened
2 cups light brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon grated nutmeg
Pinch salt
Bottle dark rum
Boiling water
In a bowl, cream together the butter, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt. Refrigerate until almost firm.
Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the butter mixture into 12 small mugs.
Pour about 3 ounces of rum into each mug (filling about halfway). Top with boiling water (to fill the remaining half), stir well, and serve immediately.

You had me until you added water, boiling or not…..
How are we to know if we like it until we know what it’s called?
Yum.
I did this a couple of years ago for Christmas gifties.
Thanks for the reminder.
*Looks in back of fridge*
*grins widely*
*grabs large mug cause there aren’t any small ones ’round here. besides 12 is too much work–cats don’t drink this*
Also: Core an apple and fill it with the batter before heating in the oven or nuke-o-wave…
Then enjoy rum on the side.
Doug, I think this is called “Hot Buttered Rum”.
But don’t quote me.
But if you do quote me, give me a credit.
And a royalty.
Hey! What about my royalty??!?
Claire, you are royalty.
Hey, anybody got a good party punch recipe? Preferably involving a bit o’ rum? I have a punch bowl that is just aching to be used!
A bottle of rum a can of coke and lots of ice——-

PeggyU – You could take off from your favorite martini recipe. eg: lots of cranberry juice, lemon vodka, half as much cointreau as vodka, lime juice and slices of lime and orange floating.
OR homemade lemonade, Lavender infusion [no idea - BRB - ooo! look!] , Violet Liqueur, lemon vodka with floating lemon slices and deep-purple pansies.
