It should go without saying that I’m not a huge fan of workplace harassment [ Even if she DID do it while associated with her workplace ] or getting into peoples’ real life space…and would very much appreciate if you all, my friends here, don’t participate in it. I think millions of people schooling her online is sufficient consequence for her very public and intentionally inciteful dooshery though.

She’s going to reap what she sowed, and I won’t lift a finger to keep it from happening.
Perfect example of why I think “freedom of speech” needs to be re-defined/clarified.
Freedom of speech is great because people can express differing perspectives. …including idiotic perspectives. I don’t want it “clarified.” (I don’t even like the “fire in a crowded theater” bit.) I am concerned enough about my own ability to speak. For ONE example: Today it is bad enough for Christians to publicly express their faith. It will soon be forbidden to express moral positions that are based on Biblical teaching if it continues. Want a job? Toe the line. Censor your thoughts, like under Mao.
I think this girl’s young and foolish for this pose, for having it photographed, and for posting it. I don’t have time to deal with an opinion on her but I would rather she be allowed to make that mistake than squelch my rights. I hope that she gets the opportunity to reflect, and probably apologize, and I hope that no real harm comes to her. (A good cage-rattling, sure…)
Were it the reverse, with a patriot expressing some position on liberty that is unpopular with the trotskyite press, we’d want them to be allowed their say.
(BTW, I have family and friends at Arlington. I don’t think that they have an opinion on the matter but, if so, it’s probably sadness that there are such foolish people who can’t take such a great opportunity to be humble and appreciative.)
Freedom of speech is not freedom from consequences.
This was incredibly fucking stupid.
At a certain point in some people’s lives it becomes clear that they do not, in fact, live for themselves, but to serve as an example to others of what *not* to do.
This has nothing to do with freedom of speech (Congress and laws).
Her mommy should drag her out’a there by her ear and tan her hide.
Adult douchery can be punished on-line.
It’s the new stocks in the village square.
(What? Another rotten tomato? Sure, here.)
I removed my previous comment because one shouldn’t opine on the fate of fools before coffee.
If I compromise my principles, even for the richly-deserving likes of her, then she and all her cackling partners-in-entropy have won.
PS shouldn’t it be “dishonorary”?
Arlington National Cemetary is a symbol of a greatful Nation. Those buried there have already paid the supreme sacrifice and are with their maker. Mere mortals can`t harm them. All they can do is harm themselves. And some day it will be their turn……
I’d like to see her voluntarily do some service work at the cemetery to show sincere regret over her actions. In the meantime, I’m sure that the Internet has given her a lot to think about.
Rush has always sad that the one thing liberals can’t stand is to be mocked. After listening to Bill Whittle a week or so ago, I think there might be one thing that might piss em off even more.
Ignore them.
Go on with your life. Be happy. Live long and prosper!
Arlington was originally the plantation owned by General Lee’s wife’s family. It was used as a hospital after 1st Bull Run (I believe) and the dead were buried in the garden.
The Union figured it was payback. Grew from there.
DESPICIBLE
I followed the original link last night and frowned severely at her and her actions.
That was the limit of the effort I chose to waste on her.
Maybe she is learning the oft useful and healthy concept of shame.
Sorry, mech. Her kind is bred to be immune from shame. Any attempt to apply shame results in righteous indignation.
How dare you be outraged at her outrage. That kinda thing.
I wil not participate in Facebook, otherwise I’d promise to some day show that picture to: her parents, her new love, her employment interviewer, the veteran now a nurse or doctor about to treat her, a charity to which she applied for help, the veteran now mechanic about to work on her car, etc.
But I won’t do Facebook.
How embarrassing. Probably one of those same people that dresses up in a vagina costume in public.
Free speech was intended to provide a means for citizens to criticize their government without fear of reprisal from said government. This is just a nasty side effect, like porn.
As Karl said, Freedom of speech protects one from the government, not the people.
The people still have the right to refuse service to anyone in their establishments. I’m sure entire towns could be encouraged to refuse service to her and her friends.
Unfortunately, there are millions more just like her. She is not some exception or “isolated incident”. This is how they all think and feel.
I have four words for her:
See You In Tea.
Well, one, really.
Sofa King tired of this crap.
I just learned that the stupid c**t in the photo, Lindsay Stone, as well as her coworker who took the photo, have been placed on unpaid leave by their employer, LIFE (Living Independently Forever, Inc.), pending an internal investigation. It seems that Ms. Stone’s trip to the Washington, D.C., area was funded by her employer, a non-profit that provides “that provides supported independent living for adults with disabilities within its condominium communities on Cape Cod, Massachusetts”. Wait for the mealy-mouthed non-apology from Ms. Stone to follow soon.
Yeah, me too Thunderbottom, the Bint`s pitcher went viral and shown now in lots of newspapers! Even her Dad was interviewed and tried to come up with some stoopid explanation that, natch, makes no fucking sense.
SHE is T.O.A.S.T! She has the right of free speech, but she had better be ready accept whatever consequences might follow. She
iswas a paid representative for her employer, LIFE. To which, she also had obligations….I write it off to stupidity. Lindsay Stone and her friend are being publically hammered now and her apology shows that she is aware and shamed of how despicable and obscene her act was to so many people. The good that comes from this is to see how many people revere Arlington as a holy place.
I would think that the men in those tombs probably accept her apology.
Freedom of speech is not freedom from consequences.
Best comment ever.
Annnnnd, they’ve been fired.
Choices have consequences.
Glad they got the pink slip. The so called “statement” they gave to the press was a load of bullshit though.
what a can’t
