Nine days until The End of [The Aztec] World!!!
[wow, maybe I ought cashout all the savings and run wild for a week. yeah - that ought work, eh?]

North Korea has successfully launched a long-range rocket, defying international warnings.

Apparently right over Okinawa. That ought go well…

Speaking of stuff that ought go well

In a diplomatic shift, President Obama said today his administration now formally recognizes the newly-formed, leading coalition of Syrian rebels who are fighting to topple Syria’s embattled President Bashar Assad.

In an interview with BBC News, [Hillary!] Clinton states, “We have a very dangerous set of actors in the region, Al-Qaeda, Hamas, and those who are on our terrorist list, to be sure, supporting – claiming to support the opposition [in Syria].”

…Al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahri’s has also publicly expressed support for Syrian rebel forces.

Yep. Oughta go well…

Billionaire investors Warren Buffett and George Soros are calling on Congress to increase the estate tax

…and more than 20 other wealthy individuals asked Congress to lower the estate tax’s per-person exemption to $2 million from $5.12 million and raise the top rate to more than 45 percent from 35 percent.

All in an effort to “raise significant revenue” so these OPM addicts can spend Spend SPEND?

New legislation that jumps the death tax to 55 percent of estates exceeding $1 million threatens 526,421 family farms, of about 25 percent of all farms in America, according to a Senate analysis.

NB Farming is not a cash-flow business. Most capital is tied up in land, equipment, stock and crops. To pull half that wealth out and convert it into cash to be flushed down the shitter given away to bums destroys the business. Worth noting: this penalizes the small farmer — aka The Poooor.

So putting more than half a million families out of business is considered a Good Thing? Kicking people off the land, making them homeless and unemployed and forcing them into a more urban environment… Taking from them the place — and the History — they have lived for generations… Prying The People from The Land through attrition. Killing small, rural communities.

Think of who is gonna buy those outfits — at fire-sale prices. And what will be done with that land.

And for what?

There’s no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren’t enough criminals one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws.

As an aside…

The owner of a monkey caught wandering outside an Ikea store in Toronto says the tiny primate should have the “right to choose” where he lives.

Remember the horror of living in these past 4 years? Get used to “Horror II”, a replay, but with new and illegal threats (…added…)!

How grim is this: My strongest hope (…and only hope…) is that OBoBo et al FAIL so badly that some extra-electoral action will be obvious before his second term is up. Lord knows, nobody is more skilled at FAIL than OBoBo….

    {…Either this or the hope that the fucking Mayans were right….}

Soon we will have the annual death tax wherein an estate will be taxed annually for as long as the deceased stays deceased. Nothing in the world as innovative as politicians pursuing taxes.

    Y’know all ‘em Mayan-apocalypse believers?
    Why are they hoarding?

Jerry, I’m afraid if Barackula Ogabe didn’t lose in a landslide after his first term, there’s nothing — absolutely nothing — he can do to get the electorate to repudiate him or his ilk.

Mitt Romney said, “I’ll get America working again!” and 51% of the electorate said, “Screw that! Where’s my Obama Phone?”

Forget the fiscal cliff. America is past the point of no return. We’ve lost the culture. There are more takers than makers in this country, which is unsustainable (in the real sense, not the gaia/Agenda-21 sense).

Our only hope, Obi-Wan Kenobe, is to start infiltrating the public schools (how?) and begin teaching students about The Enlightenment, John Locke, classical liberalism and the American founding principles. Undermine the illiberal ‘progressive’ message. Then maybe, if we’re lucky, and God willing, in two or three generations, we’ll have a prayer. I won’t be around to see it.

    Re: NorK “satellite.”
I predict that some NorK general will realize WTF they’ve done and lead a coup. Their little Dachas-on-the-Yalu world won’t work if more than the Korean Peninsula is at risk, and the Chinese don’t bail ‘em out anymore when Iran becomes a more influential sponsor and an allied nuclear-armed nut-house.

    Re: the monkey
Yeah, he has “the ‘right to choose‘ where he lives.”
In Progspeak, however, he doesn’t have a right to life.
