It’s been said before,
these people are unserious.

The four officials supposedly out of jobs because of their blunders in the run-up to the deadly Benghazi terror attack remain on the State Department payroll — and will all be back to work soon …. The highest-ranking official caught up in the scandal … has not “resigned” from government service, as officials said last week. He is just switching desks. And the other three are simply on administrative leave and are expected back.

The four were made out to be sacrificial lambs in the wake of a scathing report issued last week that found that the US compound in Benghazi, Libya, was left vulnerable to attack because of “grossly inadequate” security.

State Department leaders “didn’t come clean about Benghazi and now they’re not coming clean about these staff changes,” … the “public would be outraged over this.”

So, heads should roll, right?

“State Department officials proclaimed … that heads would roll … Now we see that the discipline is a lie and all that has happened is the shuffling of the deck chairs.” [more]

But not, you know, roll roll.

One head in particular needs to roll,
and a concussion is not the same thing.

I guess we can all rest easy that Scooter Libby and Alberto Gonzales didn’t slip through.

I quote myself: “The Obama administration affirmatively decided to abandon about 40 Americans to a terror attack, denied them rescue (Woods and Doherty were told not to go and told they would not receive backup), lied about the chain of events, lied about the choices they made, and have since tried to cover up the facts of the case, have apparently instructed those who *were* rescued not to talk, and have lied about the discipline they claim to have imposed, probably on people who did not make the decisions. ”

    In other words, it’s Wednesday.

Yeah, the pile of lies is so huge that it is overwhelming to the average person to even follow, much less to write a letter or do something about. Then the theoretically/potentially useful folks in congress are being distracted with the fiscal cliff and everything but the budget so they can’t do much about much even if there were cooperative agencies in the government to help them address some of these crimes.

I was heartily desiring a R&R win with the establishment of an agency to investigate and bring to justice the previous administration’s crimes and personnel.

Well really, When Obama said he would bring justice to those who are responsible for the attack and the only one arrested was the film maker who’s film we now know had nothing to do with it, some mid-level bureaucrats getting to take their Christmas vacation a little early (likely paid) seems about right.

These are the meteorites you seek: only they’re of the metaphoric kind.
