Here we go again…

do nothing and over-react

The incident began as an argument and fight inside the Sports Corner Café at Second and K streets [in SacTown] about 9:30 p.m…. A 22-year-old man involved in the fight pulled out a gun and shot at the people he was fighting with as a bar employee attempted to break up the scuffle,

Two dead – three wounded.

An armed security guard near a side door heard the gunshots, confronted the shooter inside the bar and the two exchanged gunfire, police said.

Both the suspect and the security guard were shot during the exchange.

So, of course:

The fireworks show in Old Sacramento [that was expected to draw as many as 40,000 people] was canceled after the incident at the request of the police department…

Carlito Montoya – citizen? Even if he was, was he carrying legally? Hmmmm? California, DiFi and all those feel good gun laws, hmmmm?
Oh I know, the assault gun just jumped out and started firing high capacity clip magnums all by itself.

    Heh. Tea Sackers. Heh.

That’s funny. No it isn’t. I don’t know what I was thinking. I just spotted Anderson Cooper when I was flipping through the channels and it must have been one of those ‘association’ things. He’s a real funny guy. No he isn’t.

Well at least the show was in Old Sac. When I first heard this they made it sounds like a show at Cal Expo was canceled, I was seriously WTFing.

And they still had to pay for the fireworks, because you can’t just save a show like that for next year. They just had to wake a bunch of people with hangovers up the next morning to do it.

Pretty much take the dumbest possible outcome, and that’s the one they pick.
