It may take a while, since it will be inspired by source graphics as I stumble across ‘em.
This Samurai picture, for example, hit me right between the eyes. It just begged to be used, and the topic is fresh.
Future topics will probably include eugenics, race/ethnics, homogeneity/segregation, economics, ethics, religion, education, family, sex, leadership, semantics, etc.
The objective will be to explore the parallels and common roots of the various forms statism (from nannyism to totalitarianism), the antithesis of the foundations of the American constitutional republic.
The tone will usually be one of Progressivism as state-worship in the sense of unquestioning belief in the unproven (or even rejection of the disproven). It’s not a slam on anyone’s religion (which is none of my business) but a commentary on the Progressives’ rejection or ignorance of the lessons of history … on a lack of intellectual progress, if you will. You know, schtick.
(What? Yes, we know, Progs tend to embrace anti-theism, because religion interferes with state-worship.)
Oh, yes … you can play, too.
Suggestions welcome.

Toshiro disarmed the guy with the gun – literally.

Doug, you should have a link on the sidebar for quick reference as the series grows.
I’ll be looking forward to future entries.
Barney Frank is looking for future entries, I hear.
Karate-Do began on Okinawa as an answer to the Government confiscation of “real” weapons……. The Bo and smaller Jo Staff, nun Chaku, et al, were methods for Unarmed Citizens to protect themselves without owning proscribed weaponry.
Granted, against swords and bow and arrow of the time.
Present time, obviously won’t work against modern weapons….. But Citizenry and ingenuity will always prevail. See the latest advances in 3D Printing.
Never, ever give up your weaponry. Always have a few registered guns to give up with a false smile. Guns are just guns.
Keep the weapons. Repeat after me:
“This is my Weapon, This is my gun, one is for Fighting, and one is for fun”
Ya don’t need the fun in desperate times….. OUT!
*always wanted to say “Out” like that*
Yeah, Sanjuro, armed with blades, took on a gun slinging samurai in Yojimbo. The movie and character was so good, Leone stole the story and remade it as A Fistful of Dollars.
Nice pick for the first in the series.
I have been pondering this question lately. We all understand that armed resistance CAN be legitimate against a nation state.
Who would begrudge the Jews of Germany the right to take up arms against the evils perpetrated against them?
Less justifiable perhaps was our own first Revolution. The Declaration of Independence contains a laundry list of grievances both large and small.
Similar complaints can be heard today.
At some point, if tens of thousands of patriotic and previously law-abiding americans were to take up arms, it might be seen as having some legitimacy.
Which might be why the frog is being boiled slowly.
By chipping away at liberty slowly enough, there is not a single moment in time where thousands are ready to take up arms. Instead, any citizen to do so will be seen as a tin-foil-hatted nut job.
So, how does a new American Revolution ever become legitimate?
We put all of our “hopes for Change” in voting.
The fact that governments killed more of their “citizens” in the 20th Century than died in wars in no way justifies the right to be armed.
The fact that a mother hiding in an attic with her children firer six shots at an home invader armed with a crow bar, hitting him five times without killing him demonstrates that single shot muskets are all that are required for self protection:
‘My Wife Is a Hero’: Georgia Mother Shoots Home Intruder Five Times After Being Cornered in Attic
Yea-ah Freddie, but she hit him w all 5 shots in his fucking face! Natch, there weren`t nothin lethal behind his face!!!!! (…plus she was shootin peashooter .38 caliber bullets—-instead of magnum .45 caliber wadcutters….)
Crap, jist the sound will kill a perp at close range…
Col Jerry,
At least some of those shots must have bounced off his boney head because the young lady inflicted a lot of body damage:
Freddie: The gun-wielding gangster was named Unosuke, and was played by Tatsuya Nakadai, who did many bad-guy roles in 60′s (and later) Samurai films.
“Sword of Doom”, fer instance…
