what. a. loser.
I couldn’t even find the Gorilla tape…

This is what you get when you try to be a perfectionist. I spent about an hour on this one…then…*pfft*…

JR DID attach it with quite a bit of slack.
(/Obama )
to my credit…this was my first one:

I haven’t trimmed it yet because I’m just not going to push my luck.

I’m not seeing a really great future for ya’ll in the remodeling business, but hey, if it makes you more comfortable, and you don’t ever plan on selling it, go for it.
Hog, this is just a temporary fix…until I sew the shades.
I KNOW…LOL!
Our electricity bill was $240 last month!! AAAAAAAAAAACK!
We have 8 of these skylights over 3 feet tall and about 2 feet wide across the cold side of the house upstairs. Until yesterday they were uncaulked. Now with that done and this plastic over them it’s about 10 degrees warmer upstairs…
I’m still a freaking loser though.
Funny though…no one’s noticed me naked in the tub….
Nekid??? in the tub??? Izzat thee tub?
Missy naked in a tub on a cold day …
Missy naked in a tub on a cold day …
Cultural ref (only, you know, the other way ’round)
Check your bill and see how much was actually electric use compared to the added on costs. Very interesting—
Wait til Warshington goes on renewable power (solar + wind…)—-like Kali is fixing to do. You will be wearin an eskimo suit inside at the Asylum////ALL fuckin winter an still have a $240 dollar heating bill! Course, your water bill will go way down, on accounta only bathing one time in the winter season—–cuz you ain`t shedding that eskimo suit for no reason; evah……………………..
^ hahaha! The Colonel often makes me go “hahaha!” But he touches on a serious subject here.
The City of Portland decided to spend about $100 million bucks [or probably more... about 50% more than a usual building] to build this ‘super efficient’ office building for gubbmint offices. It would be so efficient that heating and air-conditioning costs would practically disappear!
After it was all built, and the contractors had already cashed all the checks, they told the city that during the summer they should wear light clothing and short sleeves, and during the winter they should wear a sweater
The tape in the kits never works consistently. Plus applying it to cold surfaces is even more of a challenge. I finally bought a roll of good quality d/s tape that helped a bunch.
Tightening the plastic with a dryer is just aesthetics and puts tension on the tape. If you don’t mind how it looks, leave the wrinkles with the edges sealed.
Tell me those skylights are double pained at least Xo
They look better than many I’ve done
mech…they are. They’re just HUGE…it’s like 1/3 of the whole span of the “Gambrel”…of the roof.
.
Considering they’re “on the “Gambrel” and we got almost 70 inches of rain here last year they’re awesome. The caulking around the frame helped instantly. I applied the tape about 2″ from the window…to the wood frame. The others are ok, this one….not :)
As soon as I make the shades you won’t see the tape :)
I got 6 yards of drape backing material…with the rubbery back for $20!!!! On sale PLUS a coupon!
Right now, there’s a spider beating on the inside of the plastic film, screaming (in quiet spiderese) “Hey! Lemme outta here!”…
If a spider
Screams in space
Can anybody really hear it?
