Yeah, that’ll definitely fix the problem. No more murder or violence in New York.
Congrats, Nannies.
Seven rounds in a mag?
Yep, that’ll fix it.
A modern 1911 mag hold eight rounds, so it’s legal after the first shot is fired, right?
Yep, that’ll fix it.
One normally loads eight in the mag, cycles one into the chamber, then tops-up the mag for a total of nine. Reckon one now shouldn’t top-up the mag.
Yep, that’ll fix it.
Okay, instead of carryin’ one spare mag, requiring about 2-sec to reload, one could compensate by carrying two extra mags.
Yep, that’ll fix it.
High-cap mags must be sold out-of-State.
Yep, that’ll fix it.
Selling to family doesn’t require a background check?
Although a NICS check is not required for private sales/transfers, transferring a firearm to anyone, including family, requires compliance with BATFE and State laws. It is a felony to knowingly sell a firearm to an unqualified person.
Yep, that’ll fix it.
Look, Lanza was turned-down for a gun purchase; and he didn’t buy his murder weapons, anyway. He killed his Mother to get ‘em. According to ProgThink™, passing laws should work, so they’re doin’ everything they ca-an, right?
(What? Yeah, that’s kind’a the problem, innit?)
jackasses …
Anything with a pistol grip is an assault weapon?
Including pistols?
Here in the Granola State (What ain’t fruits or nuts, is flakes) a shotgun with a revolving cylinder is considered an assault weapon – as is anything with a thumbhole is the stock.
So they gonna do mandatory house sweeps of every gun owner now?
(5) SondraK
Only the ones that own them legally.
I’m waiting for a bill that would provide funds to assist unemployed/low income groups in obtaining Saturday Night Specials, not unlike the Obamaphone.
I’m wondering how they would know what’s in my gun (If I had one) in my own house. They could find out if it’s loaded by kicking in my front door. But they wouldn’t know how many rounds.
It’s for your own good, Citizens (damn, I always lose it on that last word – just can’t say it with a straight face).
Like increasing millions of citizens, I am fed up with being punished for the crimes of some insane person. I KNOW that politicians are punishing me for politicial reasons they judge necessary to keep getting their own ignorant asses sitting in their fucking political day job!
This is not representation, it is constitutionally criminal Tyranny!!!!
The politicians will not know as quickly as WE citizens will know—–that—-the “Breaking Point” threshold has been breeched.
Every instinct in me says that this breaking point will occur sometime during OBoBo`s second term, with a strong likelihood of it happening in 2013.
Because he believes that he now has the flexibility to ignore all the limitations of our constitutional republic!
Our task, then, will be to restore those limitations. By peaceful protest, if we are lucky, and by force, if we are unlucky!
The latter, is seeming more likely, with the passage of each fucking day…
MOLON INTERCOURSIMUS LABE
Wait …
are these new restrictions gonna apply to law-enforcement, too?
How about the Governor’s bodyguards?
Just askin’.
So, if I fire three rounds from a 10-round magazine at the cops breaking down my door, that puts me in compliance?
Andrew Cuomo is the rabble rouser who, as Clinton’s HUD secretary, gleefully unleashed the Community Reinvestment Act on the nation’s mortgage lenders, starting the slide into the subprime mortgage debacle, which was the BIGGEST single piece of the economic collapse of the past five years.
Now he wants to be the lead instigator of the 2nd American Revolution against tyranny.
Way to go you
fucking lunaticpetty tyrant. One of the NY legislators, Senate Republican leader Dean Skelos said of the new laws “… it protects the Second Amendment,…”
I guess he skipped the “shall not be infringed” part of the Second Amendment.
For Skelos, Cuomo et al:
The Amendments making up the Bill of Rights reinforce one another for the purpose of restraining the Federal government from tyrannical actions, and via the Fourteenth Amendment restrain the states as well. The government may not pick and choose which of these God-given, not granted – God-given, natural rights they may abridge for expedience’ sake.
Given the interdependence of the rights expressed (but not “granted”) in the Bill of Rights, the arguments advanced by Feinstein, Cuomo, and others are plainly based in statist desires and pleaded while standing on the shoulders of someone else’s tragic misfortune. Take any one of these crocodile tear arguments, remove the references to firearms, and replace it with another basic right listed in the Bill of Rights; e.g., “Why would anybody need more than ten bullets to hunt deer?” then becomes “Why would anyone need to own more than ten books?”, or “Why would anybody need to write more than ten letters to the editor?”, “Why would any city need more than ten churches?”, “Why would anyone need a jury – let the judge decide.”
Freedom of speech and of religion, of assembly, to petition the government, from unreasonable searches and seizures, from excessive bail, from compelled self-incrimination, from cruel and unusual punishment are all part of the tapestry of rights woven in the Bill of Rights, and the right to keep and bear arms is part of the tapestry. Cut that or any other right out of that cloth and the tapestry will begin to unravel.
Being part of the integral whole, the Second Amendment is no more an anachronism to be expeditiously infringed than is the First, or the Fourth, or the Fifth, and that is why I do not need permission of statist bastards to keep and bear arms, nor should Ii have to jump through bureaucratic hoops saying “Mother may I?” at every step to keep my rights.
……Shall not be infringed.
I stand with The Colonel, and dick.
I, too, believe the snapping point will be reached in any passing of this panty waisted gun control scared of the dark legislation.
With the upcoming George Zimmerman trial as a kicker.
Okay, my rant (2) was based on pistol magazines, but it may be that the Cuomonista mag limit may apply only to rifles. Dunno.
In case that’s true, here are some basics.
Removable box mags (for assault-style rifles) come in a few basic flavors:
• 30, the “banana” style designed for military automatic/select-fire which use a lot of medium-power ammo quickly but popular with the semi-auto civilian versions, too
• 20, the standard-ish mag for large-caliber semi-autos
• 10, for competition, compactness, and general range work
• 8, the “enbloc” for the M1Garand (a “clip” that remains in the rifle’s internal magazine while being fired)
• 5, for hunting
Bolt-action rifles generally hold about 5 rounds internally or in a removable box mag, but training and target rifles may hold only one round at a time (i.e. no magazine).
Tubular magazines that hang below the barrel of lever-actions and pumps (both repeaters and semi-automatics) generally hold between 5 and 20 or so rounds. Shotguns may be required to have a plug during hunting that limits the gun to 3 rounds.
Of course, the exceptions are numerous.
If somebody took a shot at Cuomo, does it fit the definition of irony if they were to use a single shot .22 ?
Col Jerry, SIR! My Greek might be a bit rusty. Is “intercoursimus” a real word?
^ ^ ^
MikeG, if it isn’t, it oughta be!
Of coursimus it is…………
