knee jerks

They kneeded to pass it to find out what’s in it.

A troubling oversight has been found within New York State’s sweeping new gun laws. The ban on having high-capacity magazines, as it’s written, would also include law enforcement officers.

Magazines with more than seven rounds will be illegal under the new law when that part takes effect in March. As the statute is currently written, it does not exempt law enforcement officers.

Hey, I was jokin‘ (comment #10), ’cause that would’a been sooo friggin’ obvious and hilarious.
(What? Yeah … I wonder what other brilliant oversights are in there.)
What a goat-rope.

Nearly every law enforcement agency in the state carries hand guns that have a 15 round capacity. … The Patrolman’s Benevolent Association President released a statement saying, “The PBA is actively working to enact changes to this law that will provide the appropriate exemptions from the law for active and retired law enforcement officers.”

Cops are different than citizens, then.
Step umpteumpth in asserting state monopoly on the legitimate use of deadly force.

State Senator Eric Adams, a former NYPD Captain, told us he’s going to push for an amendment next week to exempt police officers from the high-capacity magazine ban. In his words, “You can’t give more ammo to the criminals”

Wait … what ?!
That doesn’t even make sense.
(What? Yeah, I know. What did I expect? *sigh*)
Besides, since when do firearms laws apply to criminals?

Hurry up and legislate.
It’s either that or think.
Hey, what could go wrong?

Every legislator who voted for this abomination is a flaming incompetent,
and every governor who signed it is an arrogant, incompetent, dictatorial jackass.

I wish I lived in New York right now. I would be tooling around with 7 rounds in my legal handgun, breaking every traffic law I can to get pulled over as often as I can until they fix the law. Then threaten every officer who has the balls to pull me over with a citizens arrest.

The more I think about this the more I do not want it fixed.

Make the cops carry short loaded ten rounders and hear the screams….

“The criminals have more bullets in their guns because they don’t follow the laws.”

WoW, Skippy, didja figger that out fer yer own self. You deserve a cookie!

The citizens who reach for a gun in the nightstand when the glass in the back porch door shatters figured it out last week.

Now, how about backing up all the law abiding citizens and tell the govt to give us all our bullets back.

Cuomo is an asshole, but not incompetent except if you believe he actually wants to decrease crime. If he were serious about that, he would be appointing hanging judges and either legalize drugs or ban using drugs with draconian penalties, including the death penaltry for selling. He would also ask for really serious additional time for robbery, assault or rape involving criminals using a firearm. He would tube tie women squirting out multiple babies with no fathers present or seize the kids for adoption, and on and on ..crickets….crickets….
He’s just another g-damned statist shamelessly using a crisis to protect his power, generate self publicity to hide the real ineffectiveness of his liberal agenda and seize more votes and power. If his goal is to serve himself and not the voters, then he is competent.

Also the cops in NY (and CA while we’re at is) should not be allowed to carry AR-15s. As is well documented, those are designed solely for the purpose of killing as many people as possible.

So why is it acceptable for somebody to be randomly killing as many people as possible just because he has a badge, huh? Why do you hate children?

p.s. That goes double for Feds.

So in the process of enacting gun control that they know criminals won’t obey, they claim that it will affect criminals and then admit it won’t affect criminals.

    It’s like a freaking cartoon.

It wasn’t a stupid move it was just a little ole oversight. Instead of carrying one weapon with a clip of 14 they can carry two with clips of 7. No problem.

MikeG, the correct pronunciation of that is “citizen’s a-RAY-est! citizen’s a-RAY-est!”

I oughta know, I heard the original broadcast of that situation.
