    Gee, Venezuela has strict gun control – only the police and army can legally own a weapon. That’s how you get this kind of nasty stuff:

    CARACAS, Venezuela — Venezuela’s vice president said Wednesday that the government has uncovered a plot to attack him or another senior leader of President Hugo Chavez’s party.

    The purported plot involved “groups that have infiltrated the country,” Vice President Nicolas Maduro said in a speech to government supporters. He added that the authorities believe the unidentified groups intended to attack him or National Assembly President Diosdado Cabello, and then “try to blame one or the other.”

    After announcing the alleged plot, Maduro traveled to Cuba to see the ailing Chavez, who underwent cancer surgery more than six weeks ago. Cuban state television showed Maduro arriving in Havana on Wednesday night and being greeted by Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez.

    In a speech to supporters in Caracas on Wednesday afternoon, Maduro didn’t provide any evidence of the plot or say what sort of attacks the authorities believed to have been planned. The vice president also didn’t mention any arrests, but said: “Don’t be surprised by the actions that will be taken in the coming days.”

    A large contingent of police and troops with rifles stood guard while Maduro spoke at an outdoor rally.

    That would have been the equivalent of an 18″ barrel on the revolver to accomplish that macrame.

    I have often thought the same, Doug. Though sawing it off would be a bit time consuming.

    A shaped cutting charge would do nicely to build and toss over the barrel with sufficient blankets to contain most of the mess and noise. With a few extra minutes, a new front sight could be epoxied on the finished work.

    Heck, that would be a good foundation for a movie.
    What would be a good diversion?

    As to Doug’s dream, just be brazen. Show up in a contractor’s van, appropriate work uniforms, and the equipment to take it off, depending on the material of the ‘artwork’[spit].
    Might need some research or a scouting mission to know the material.

    What dick, NQDWG (4), said! That would give the most exciting little
    message to all the anti-gunners, plus all the UN anti-gun fascists.
    I unnerstan’ our SoS & a bazillion other leftists enthusiastically
    support the UN anti-gun agendas. This ‘enhancement’ of the sculpture
    back to it’s original ‘form & function’ would galvanize 2nd amendment
    support & there might even be huge celebratory crowds there!
    Wonder how long the un-knotted ‘re-barreled’ gun would last.
