   I think this makes sense. Lib-classics are more independent, don’t want government help or government control, and are probably armed. Because of this, there is less violence in rural areas than in cities. We’re not a good prospect for violence.

   The city dwellers have no idea how to operate firearms, and so they’re afraid of them. The Gollums inciting violence in the cities are the only ones with guns, so the illiberal control freaks assume every bad guy has a gun, and no good guy would. For them, it’s probably true. They’re told not to take the law into their own hands, even though when seconds count, the police can be there in minutes — to draw a line around the victim, and try to catch the perp.

   The demographic is swinging increasingly to the cities, and the “sustainable” movement is trying to hurry this up with oppressive controls on traditional land-use and property rights. They want all humans in urban “pack’n'stack” housing in highly populated corridors. And they’re winning. We may have passed the point of no return, demographically, socially and culturally.

   AM – good heads up. I’ve gotten made up shit like that in emails, usually with the ubiquitous “pass this on to everybody you know”, and berate the sender for being so gullible and uncurious.
   The Uhbamunists have more than enought true stuff to damn them to the 9th ring of hell without us giving them ammunition to damn us too.

   Just as a point of interest, a few years ago I did a bit of rough research on the urban/rural split in the US and Canada.

   A couple of websites later, I learned that the top 50 cities in the US (Noo Yawk at about 7M down to Wichita KS at about 300K) together comprised a total of 16 percent of the overall US population.

   Up here in Canuckistan, the top 30 cities (Tranna at 4M down to Moncton NB at 100K) together accounted for 66 percent of Canada’s population. Fully two thirds of our people live in cities.

   Can you IMAGINE how fucked up you’d be with that situation?

   A good time for a refresher course on the laws of internet rumors

   1) If it makes the world look just like you expect it, it’s a rumor.

   2) If it sounds so right it must be true, it’s a rumor.

   3) If you follow the source back 3 or more links without finding the original, it’s a rumor.

   and 4) If you repost it as soon as you read it without checking it, it’s a rumor.

   I just made these up.

   If you look on the map to WA and then look at the red band just below the crotch of Puget Sound, that’s Lewis County, WA, the most conservative county in Western WA.

   Where even the Democratic county chairman has a Mini 14.

   And right in the crotch of Puget Sound is Little ‘Frisco, better known as “Olympia”.

   re. the Update – Does not surprise me.

   By which I mean, I saw Lane County (OR, Eugene) in “high violence”.

   And … that’s just untenable.
