hang on tight
From that White Paper raaaacist justifying the POTUS [yes, kidz -- not just Teh iWon; look to the future] to use drones to blow American Citizens to greazy bits anywhere in the world if HE believes that they are Terrifying Terrorists™.
Though, apparently, waterboarding is still a Crime Against Humanity.
“It must be right that states are able to act in self-defense in circumstances where there is evidence of further imminent attacks by terrorist groups even if there is no specific evidence of where such an attack will take place or of the precise nature of the attack,”
…an exaggerated rewrite of the legal definition of “imminence,” something that the administration has labeled “elongated imminence.”
…
In dangerous circumstances an “Act in Self-Defense” is justified … for Teh State.
For You, not so much….

Oh. A doctrine justifying pre-emptive strikes. Not that I disagree in principle, but weren’t there a few people between 2000-2008 for whom that was the worserest thing ever and a national disgrace and proof of egregious stupiditude by the idiot Texas cowboy?
Glad we finally got that cleared up. When is Dubya’s trial for war crimes scheduled, again? I forget.
Elongated imminence? How’s that? Imminent = likely to occur at any moment … elongated = protracted …
When are they going to get around to rewriting all the dictionaries with the progspeak updates?
Blowing up Americans who have publicly joined an enemy army and are fighting a war against the US … is the correct thing to do.
If they want a fair trial, they need to surrender first.
But the rank hypocrisy here is just astounding.
#3 Kristophr you beat me to it.
