the L is for lootah

Former Rep. Jesse L. Jackson Jr. (D-Ill.) will plead guilty to conspiring with his wife to illegally spend $750,000 in campaign funds on personal expenses, including a $43,000 Rolex watch, fur coats and memorabilia associated with Michael Jackson…
…“billboard expenses” transferred to his wife’s business and then almost immediately moved to their personal account to pay down credit card charges. Others ranged from, “airplane tickets, booze and cigars to groceries.” …

…if there’s any plus side to all of this, the people of his district have probably learned a valuable lesson, and will quickly move to elect a fiscally conservative Republican with a sold background in financial management who will ….

Heard there is a plea bargain in the works.
Cunningham, a war hero Rep., got 8 years.
Doing the Chicago arithmetic, Jackson will get 8 months, wife 8 weeks, with credit for time served.
Time served in Chicago includes Jackson’s hospital stay and any time spent under accusation and indictment. It is considered racial harassment and is obviously worse than jail time.

Here in Arizona it’s officials with hispanic sir names. Everything from a CBP officer allowing drugs through a check point in Douglas to an MVD official selling drivers licenses to illegal aliens.
I don’t think it’s necessarily racist, it’s just that they are no longer minorities with regards to attaining positions of power.

LL… I was born in Tombstone, raised up the road in Tucson, plan to retire back there on the family acreage near Bisbee.

I agree, some folks need awakening. And some folks need to have their power cut off at the knees.

And Dear Sondra….yep, I get it, BUT, I owe them nothing.

Don’t blame Jesse.. he is just following the Chicago way. Like his dad, like the governor, senators, congressmen, Aldermans, ward healers, etc… Since before Al Capone it’s been like this.

JJ Jr. represented the 2nd Congressional District of Illinois which, years ago, was represented for a lo-o-ong time by Democrat race-baiting loon, Gus Savage. He was eventually replaced by Democrat, Mel Reynolds, who was re-elected in 1994, despite being under indictment. JJ Jr. replaced Reynolds in 1995, after Mel had to resign after being convicted of sexual assault and solicitation for child pornography (ah, yes – Democrats: protectors of womyn and chillins). Mel was later convicted of wire fraud and lying to SEC investigators. JJ Jr. was re-elected by a wide margin in spite of being hospitalized at he time for “Bi-polar syndrome” (I remember seeing a campaign billboard along I-57 with him arm-in-arm with Prez “Mom-jeans”). Former Dem Gov Blagojevich got around 14 years after being convicted of corruption; former RINO Gov George Ryan was recently released after serving about 6 years of a 10-year sentence. I doubt JJ Jr. and his wife will serve as much as 5 years between them. JJ Jr.’s wife stayed with him even after it was revealed that he had had an affair (guess she did it for the money). I guess she’s sorry she stayed after JJ Jr. rolled on her to the Feds.
#14, Col. Jerry, sir: it’s now believed that the Great Chicago Fire was started by a meteor shower instead of Mrs. O’Leary’s cow (there was a big fire in Wisconsin, believed to be ignited by meteors at around the same time as the Chicago fire). Too bad that recent meteor hit Kazahkstan instead of Chicago – coulda taken out Bombin’ Billy Ayers and his evil loon of a wife as well as Rahm Emmanuel and that fat Marxist loon, Karen Lewis, head of the Chicago Teachers’ Union.

Wolf, I find myself muttering epithets under my breath more and more these days. I can’t help if the stereotyped insist on being so stereo-type-able. Case in point. $750,000 is really not that large a sum of money. A $43,000 Rolex is beyond reasonable in comparison. Where does one suppose racist terms like “enword rich” come from?

I don’t see why people are upset. After all, he’s “entitled”.

Thunderbottom (#15): Reading your list of Illinois legislators now serving as guests of the State, pretty soon they’ll have a quorum in the Pen and ccould conduct State business.

Results prob’ly couldn’t be any worse than they are now.
