Lawmakers proposing gun control legislation could end up in prison under a bill introduced by a Missouri House Republican.

Rep. Mike Leara, of St. Louis County, said Tuesday that he has no illusions that his bill actually will pass and become law. But Leara said in a written statement that he introduced it as a matter of principle in defense of gun rights.

The legislation filed Monday would make members of the Legislature guilty of a felony if they introduce legislation restricting gun rights. If convicted, lawmakers could serve prison terms of up to four years…

Things to do today: 1. Draft house bill 634 that makes it a felony for any house member that votes against, or indicates “present”, on house bill 633!

Betcha the Prog took an oath that contains the phrase “support and defend the Constitution”, and their gun bill makes them guilty of violating their oath. Isn’t that already a crime?

Maybe they’ll name their bill gun grab the Adam Lanza*spit* Memorial bill.
    Speaking of which,
Another drugged up loser living in mommy’s basement stole guns, which is AGAINST THE LAW.
Under the influence of psychotic video games and his drugs, he shot and killed his own mother, which is AGAINST THE LAW,
He transported these guns loaded, which is AGAINST THE LAW.
He brought guns onto school property, which is AGAINST THE LAW,
He broke into the school, which is AGAINST THE LAW.
He discharged the weapons within city limits, which is AGAINST THE LAW.
He murdered 26 people which is AGAINST THE LAW.
He committed suicide, which is AGAINST THE LAW.

And the power grabbing Progs think passing ANOTHER law banning guns will protect us from nanny state bred monsters?
Not hardly, they don’t give a damn, or they’d do a better job of enforcing things like immigration laws and police up activities within their own ranks that would be felonies for us proles.
Their objective is total control and feathering their own nests and feeding their egos at our expense.
Armed citizens and truly free (non PC) speech are obstacles in their path.

It think that’s one of the funniest things I’ve ever read.
I had a post all ready to go when I read yours, Missy.
    No fair.
I wanted desperately to use this old poster:

Now, you’ll never know the joke that went with it. So there.

    Missouri Constitution:

Article I, Section 8 echos the Federal First Amendment.
    Article II, Section 19:

“Source: Const. of 1875, Art. IV, Sec. 17.
Section 19. Legislative privileges.—Senators and representatives shall, in all cases except treason, felony, or breach of the peace, be privileged from arrest during the session of the general assembly, and for the fifteen days next before the commencement and after the termination of each session; and they shall not be questioned for any speech or debate in either house in any other place”

“any other place” would likely include a Missouri courthouse. This echos language in the Federal Consitution as well. So my guess would be that this law likely would be found unconstitutional at the Missouri State level.

Wasn’t it Missouri where recently a bill was proposed that would force turn in and destruction of all firearms?

How about adding a line to the bill that says “Also, your seat immediately flips to the other party”?

RonF (5): You’re probably right. I do wonder, though, if tar and feathers is mentioned anywhere in either Constitution …..
