As I keep asking, if everything will fail over this, what is the other $3,750,000,000,000 being spent on?

Also I think the projection is rosy. Those “savings” will disappear by next year.

If you like your sequester, you can keep your sequester.
Nah, we’re boned. Even if they stave off the sequester it will be with a panic stricken POS cobbled together at the last minute that will be just as bad. My job with the Navy is probably secure.
Probably. But it relies upon the Navy determining how many ship-days of replenishment services they need per year, and if they cut it then we may see some ships put in reduced operational status – essentially laid up. And before anyone proclaims “But there’s plenty of fat to trim in DoD!” ask yourself where is the fat? Then ask where are the trimmers? The guys at the pointy end of the stick don’t hold the purse strings.
In the meanwhile, the real face of the sequester is going to be two job working single moms struggling to finish their medical degree at night school and having to feed their family on three packets of ramen a week.

^Steve (3) – yeah, and in addition, those med students are facing the rosy future of Uhbamacare telling them that they will be proctologists in Bumfuck Egypt.
This sequestration is the same Kabuki crap we’ve been hearing every time a budget or debt limit deadline comes up.
Fuggemall.
BTW, why isn’t our Stinky Prince telling us all about the PorePeople in Depts of Education, Energy and EPA that will be furloughed?
Because he’s a lying, demogogic POS, that’s what.

^If he told the truth he would be reduced to a pile of ashes!
hmmmmmm…….
We might be better off with ashes, rather than a bunch of asses….
That red line needs to drop like an inverted hockey stick. The “sequestration” is insulting. All the howling like hammered cats over it is insulting. What a tragic time to be an American.
We’re headed for a fiscal cliff chasm deeper than the Mariana Trench at 60 MPH, and we’re ten feet from the edge. The smart ones have been saying, “Stop! Turn around!” for decades, and the Republicans are saying, “Maybe we sould take it out of cruise.” but the choomster-in-chief and his rent-seeking Democrats are saying, “No, don’t stop! This is such a fun ride, that would be a bummer dude!”
At this point, we’re so close to the edge, I doubt we could avoid a crash even if we slammed on the brakes with both feet. I guess the correction will take care of itself. But it will be a bumpy ride and a hard landing.

I still hate the fraudulent bastard.
I know I shouldn’t hate, but he’s the devil personified.
This Seaquestration thing, and the teeny percentage of cuts, is liked to me taking cigarettes out of our household budget.
1) it won’t affect the household spending power at all.
2). It’ll be good for me.

I have to admit that I was caught up in the hair on fire incorrect numbers and reports till a friend who is still secure where I used to work said they were expecting furlough fridays or every other week. Still full benefits with a high paying gov’t bureaucratic slot. Just have to cut back on steak to twice instead of four times a week.
The contractors will have to actually lay people off which is where the real hurt lands.
However, for the last 4-5 years, a bunch of contractors were converted assimilated to the suckling side so they couldn’t be laid off or subject to contract changes every few years. The great grey obelisk blob of government has been preparing for this for a while.

When they figure out how to cut annual spending to 75% of the tax revenue received, THEN I might begin to take them seriously. That’s what would have come out of a real “kitchen table discussion”, right? Remember that one? Anything less than that is Same Old Same Old, and not worth a tinker’s dam.
All the more reason to let the whole house of cards burn, then start all over … once we do some major, and violent, housecleaning.

Then there’s the fact – one the MSM doesn’t seem to want to report – that way back when, Obama was all in favor of sequestration. Now that it’s come back to bit him on the Presidential Posterior, he’s shocked. Just shocked, I tell you.

It won’t burn, it won’t even smolder. We’re just where England was in the 960s, or Canada in the 1980s.
Everything will just get a little crummier every year, until there’s a big war.
