Yeah, I know this kind’a doctrinal/canon-law issue is none’a my personal business
(well, other than it feeds my giggling schadenfreude when the likes of Pelosi are involved),
but some’a y’all care about these things, so y’might wanna stock up on popcorn.

Nancy Pelosi pronounces Marco Rubio a bad Catholic

I thoroughly disagree (with Rubio’s opposition to gay marriage), being raised in a Catholic family, raising a Catholic family, mainstream Catholic – well, the Baltimore catechism, to get back to our hometown of Baltimore, was what we were raised on. And I think that this statement by Senator Rubio is most unfortunate. It’s a polarizing statement. The fact is, is that what we’re taught was to respect people in our faith and to say that this endangers mainstream Christian thinking is so completely wrong. [source]

Cardinal Raymond Burke (archbishop emeritus of St. Louis, MO, and prefect of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura at the Vatican) says Pelosi should be denied communion

Because of her longstanding support for abortion, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), a Catholic, must be denied Communion under the law of the Catholic Church …. [source]

I don’t think she expected that.

Why do I have a feeling they started embalming Nancy Pelosi a few years ago?

But on a more serious note:

I too would be delighted to stay out of Catholic family quarrels, but seriously….?

This is a jaw-dropper, even for a Proggie (they like to co-opt everything), even for N.P., this is a shark-jump of astonishing proportions: by that standard, would The Pope* be a “bad Catholic?”

I’m not commenting on SSM, nor on Catholic theology; I’m just saying that whether they are right or wrong or whatever, N.P. (not for the first time) appears to not even blush while she makes up her own version of Catholicism.

When did the current Pope die and they made her Pope God instead?

    * Not to mention the entire College of Cardinals, all the archbishops, etc.

Meanwhile, over at the State Department, The Peter Principle appears to be getting a severe over-workout:

Spokeswoman Marie Harf has woven a rich tapestry as the voice of the State Department.

    But she’s moving on.

The department announced late Tuesday that starting June 1, Harf will be moving out of the briefing room and beginning a “new role” as senior adviser for strategic communications to Secretary of State John Kerry.

    Story here:

I don’t understand. When did John Kerry come to be in need of more fog production than he can manage all by himself?

By the way, there’s finally a (small) positive development in the Iran Nuke Negotiations:

And for a variation on the theme, here’s a little comment on our Anglican bretheren.

I haven’t read all the comments (yet), but the main post makes some very valid points. The Anglican Communion is dying because it has drifted from its core principles and from the Word of God, and it won’t recover unless it returns to the Word.

(Kinda like the US and that Constitution thingy ….)

I just love how Leftists use religion as a flag of convenience whenever it helps them score a rhetorical cheap shot.

^ Oddly enough, Leftist behavior mostly reminds me of the kind of cheap, spoiled, predatory, hypocritical behavior that teachers & parents used to try to train out of first and second graders.

But now, of course, the trainers are Leftists….

Hypocrisy, thy name is Liberal. Catholics oppose homosexual marriage.

(New definition: hypocracy: government by hypocrites)

Real – traditional – marriage is way up on the list of Catholic teachings.

    Abortion is way down.

So where does that put Pelosi relative to Rubio?

  11. Posted June 1, 2015 at 6:40 am |

She apparently has absolutely no self-awareness, nor a smidgen of a sense of irony.

Catholics only do real marriage. Let the gays do what they want. But, don’t call it “marriage”.
