ToDaZeD CA *facepalm*

can you say oligarchy?

California Senate officials earlier this year hired two part-time employees to provide late-night and early-morning rides for members while they are in Sacramento, a 24-hour service that follows high-profile drunken driving arrests involving lawmakers in recent years. [State Sen. Ben Hueso, D-San Diego; Then-Assemblyman Martin Garrick, R-Solana Beach; Then-Sen. Roy Ashburn, R-Bakersfield;

“a security issue” … a retired Assembly sergeant-at-arms and a retiree from the Department of General Services, are paid $2,532 per month … Monday through Wednesday nights when the Legislature is in session, between January and early or mid-September …

That’s reee-diculous. Why should it be limited to “only when they’re in The Sac”?!? Like it’s ok for them to go drunkenly careening around in their home districts?!? O’course, they won’t run over other Senators at home, so…

But just Senators…

The Assembly does not have overnight drivers … transportation for members is available through the special services division of the Assembly Sergeant-at-Arms Office between 7 a.m. and 1 a.m. on Mondays through Thursdays, and until midnight on Sundays, 10 p.m. on Fridays and 4 p.m. on Saturdays.

Oh, well then…

the Assembly had a 24-hour ride service on Sundays through Fridays until 1995, but she was unsure why the hours had been scaled back. That was the year Republicans briefly took control of the Assembly.

The year…

Drunken Senators of the State variety are a fixture of Sacratomato’s nightlife. You haven’t arrived until you’ve had your shoes befouled by a state senator.

Why not just tattoo the phone number for Uber on the palm of every state senator’s hand?

Then again, mebbe they’re worried about getting stopped by the Attorney General’s fake police or fake police.

They don’t even need a number. They can just click the effing Uber app icon on their effing smart phones. They don’t even need to know where they are – the app does that.

^and none of it should be done on the taxpayers’ wallet.

I get chapped at the local holiday drunk rides at taxpayer expense.

If they can afford to go out and get drunk, they can afford to buy a ticket home before hand from their own pocket.

^ Get their credit card numbers, so they can be billed directly.
    Better yet,
send a hardcopy bill to their spouses.

We did this in the Navy, but E-6 and above paid for the service, not the Navy or the Command.

What makes you think they’re getting drunk out with their own money?
