Shocked!

Shocked, I tell you.

Jeh the Johnson

Homeland Security Inspector General’s report, TSA agents failed 67 out of 70 tests, with Red Team members repeatedly able to get potential weapons through checkpoints.

That’s 95.7% worng.

Including a fella with a bomb taped to his back which the “pat-down” missed entirely.

TSA Yes!

TSA No Worries!

[TSA] annual budget of more than $7 billion

TSA: Hands on your head!!!

TSA: Hit the deck, you terrorist!!!

Ya get whatcha pay fer, I guess…

#TheSystemWorked!

And there are going to be some who are going to come before you and are going to say, ‘Oh, no, no, no. This is not what the Founders intended.’

The Founders made sure that the first obligation of the American government was to protect the lives of the American people, and we can do this in a way that’s smart and cost-effective and protects civil liberties.

But you know, you can’t enjoy your civil liberties if you’re in a coffin.

Chris Christie

Ignoring the Christie stuff, and just looking at TSA, this is no surprise to me.

    a) Personal observation of Amateur Hour at airport checkpoints.

    b) I know a guy who until recently ran a different kind of security at a a major U.S. international airport*, after a distinguished career doing other hard things in bad places. His professional interactions with TSA and related matters has him with an ironclad that he never violates no matter how far he has to travel domestically: Do Not Fly Commercial — EVER!

    * Hope that’s vague enough.

    Unaccountable bureaucracy caught again.

Should be privatized with non union workers who need to re apply for their job each year.

Thinking about that “you can’t enjoy your civil liberties if you’re in a coffin” now.

Ummm…. well, I take his point, but I’m just wondering whether there were any similar sentiments expressed by certain nationalists during the closing days of the Weimar Republic.

Christe lost me when he said NJ gun laws were sufficient. I guess he follows the state motto “If it isn’t illegal it ought to be”

Lets not overreact here. Not a single little old lady in a wheelchair with a bomb was able to get past these ever-vigilant guardians of the country.

Given their demonstrated failure rate, this attempted brag is really pretty ominous:

    ^ Ouch!

Looks like the TSA is trying to deflect criticism of their incompetence, although finding guns is probably easier than finding bombs.
