erm…

whaaa?

I just did a gloooooogle search with the goal of making a small funneh. Nevermind that now; I found this*:

A synonym is a word or phrase that means exactly or nearly the same as another word or phrase in the same language.

Yes, I was so confused I had to look ^that^ up.

“Just”
“Friendly”
“Individualistic”
“Libertarian”

I’m gonna go have a nice lie down, then maybe some consomme and a bit of dry toast.

“When I use a word,’ Humpty Dumpty said in rather a scornful tone, ‘it means just what I choose it to mean — neither more nor less.’

’The question is,’ said Alice, ‘whether you can make words mean so many different things.’

’The question is,’ said Humpty Dumpty, ‘which is to be master — that’s all.”

I’ve said for years that leftists, among many other things, had taken over our language. This seems to bear that out.

    “Socialist” = “Constitutional”?!

Which Constitution are they talking about? Cuba? Venezuela? The USSR?

    That’s Thesaurus.com

You gotta go to the dictionary part: Socialist [e.g., Bernie Sanders], which guides us to Socialism, which tells us

a theory or system of social organization that advocates the vesting of the ownership and control of the means of production and distribution, of capital, land, etc., in the community as a whole.

… not to be confused with Marxist socialism, which is

the stage following capitalism in the transition of a society to communism, characterized by the imperfect implementation of collectivist principles.

I’d say that these days, we’re experiencing an “imperfect implementation of collectivist principles” – but our Progressives are working to fix that.

The problem with investing the control of anything in the “community as a whole” is that as a whole, they’re mostly ignorant idiots.

Which is why real socialists sell us that bill of goods while making darn sure the ownership and control remains firmly in their elite hands.

That’s the thesaurus, which is just sort of a suggestion box for writers that can’t pull fancy words out of a hat.

We need to go the the dictionary, for “socialism”, which guides us to “socialist” (see “Bernie Sanders”).

a theory or system of social organization that advocates the vesting of the ownership and control of the means of production and distribution, of capital, land, etc., in the community as a whole.

… not to be confused with Marxist socialism:

the stage following capitalism in the transition of a society to communism, characterized by the imperfect implementation of collectivist principles.

I’d say that we’re now seeing an “imperfect implementation of collectivist principles”, but our Progressive brethren are working mightily to fix that.

One problem with putting ownership and control in the hands of the community as a whole, is that, as a whole, the community is mostly ignorant idiots.

Which is why the Progressives try to sell us the nice-sounding bill of goods, while making sure that ownership and control stays firmly in their elite hands.

And while we’re on the subject, how is “Socialist” associated in any way with “representative” or “self-governing”? It would seem to me those terms are more like antonyms.
