What a narcissistic, buck-passing putz !

By any measure, President Obama’s effort to train a Syrian opposition army to fight the Islamic State on the ground has been an abysmal failure. The military acknowledged this week that just four or five American-trained fighters are actually fighting.

But the White House says it is not to blame. The finger, it says, should be pointed not at Mr. Obama but at those who pressed him to attempt training Syrian rebels in the first place — a group that, in addition to congressional Republicans, happened to include former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.

At briefings this week after the disclosure of the paltry results, Josh Earnest, the White House press secretary, repeatedly noted that Mr. Obama always had been a skeptic of training Syrian rebels. The military was correct in concluding that “this was a more difficult endeavor than we assumed and that we need to make some changes to that program,” Mr. Earnest said. “But I think it’s also time for our critics to ‘fess up in this regard as well. They were wrong.”

In effect, Mr. Obama is arguing that he reluctantly went along with those who said it was the way to combat the Islamic State, but that he never wanted to do it and has now has been vindicated in his original judgment. [story]

Nice commanderinchiefin’, there, chief.

Lemmseehere… Captain Benghazi’s resume already includes racist, marxist, narcissist, liar, embezzler, thief, economic ignoramus, geographic ignoramus, effeminist, inarticulate speaker; can we now add “coward”, or was that the unfailing narcissist talking?
Or maybe it’s early onset dementia (we can hope); IIRC, Captain Benghazi referred to Truman’s famous saying in 2009, 2010, 2012 in response to Geithner’s screwups, the Syrian red line, burgeoning debt and other foibles.
The one constant of the Benghazi Regime is that Benito Benghazi is responsible for nothing, unless there’s good news.

I wonder if there was more than a little “trickle down” in Barry’s desire to see the program fail.

The number of good military personnel dwindled during this administration. For those that are here during the next one, the going will be tough, since they’ll have thousands of bad apples to rift from the ranks.

One of the few times I sat thru a whole episode of Seinfeld was the one where Kramer showed a knack for picking HOT tv shows. When Kramer tried to get recognition and money the boss told him that Kramer might have picked them but the Boss was the one who OKed and signed off on them.

Yeah, but $500 million to train 5 guys?????

Obama spends $500 million to train 5 anti-ISIS fighters

President Obama just found out how many good anti-ISIS fighters $500 million buys: five, at most.

That’s about the same as when Obama set free 5 terrorists to get Bergdahl back.
