Las are for the Law-abiding

Gov. Jerry Brown on Friday signed [within 24 hours after being sent these bills] six gun-control bills into law, including new restrictions on semiautomatic rifles [a ban on the sale of semiautomatic rifles equipped with so-called “bullet buttons” that allow the removal and replacement of magazines] and a requirement that ammunition purchasers undergo background checks

Before decamping for a EUropean Vakay, Ol’ Uncle Jerry said;

“My goal in signing these bills is to enhance public safety by tightening our existing laws in a responsible and focused manner, while protecting the rights of law-abiding gun owners,”

GollyGee. I sure hope those crazy people and terrorists follow this law…

[Jerry ”I smell mustard!” Brown’s] Vetoes included a bill that would have allowed co-workers, mental health workers and school officials to petition the court for a “gun violence restraining order” for people judged [judged by whom? No idea... a danger to themselves and others. Such orders would allow guns to be confiscated for a year.

In a completely unrelated story from which I gather NO conclusions or information at all;

Around 3:30 a.m. [some moron] allegedly got into an altercation with another man and fired his gun several times into the crowd that had gathered.

He struck three victims, almost wounded a fourth [who has a concealed carry permit*], who drew his own weapon in self-defense and neutralized [the moron] with a single shot to the leg.

Funnay… That didn’t seem to make the MSM…

    Well, that didn’t take long…

    (I look for these to be banned next year.)

    So the elite get armed guards and personal gun permits, but The People (you can smell them in the summer) might be allowed sharp sticks, with permits, of course.
    Claire, looking at the info graphic, a major shift (think separation) along the San Andreas fault might be the only thing to save Kalifornia.

    Most articles have been ignoring the banning of possession of normal capacity magazines (previously “grandfathered”). In other words, confiscation (but making you do the work). The legislative “debates” were full of bizarre lies (claiming bullet buttons allowed automatic fire, for example) and denigration of the Constitution.

    California is actually doing worse things to itself than this, if that can be believed. When the left gets overwhelming majority rule, they *will* go all Venezuela on you. Water and power shortages, especially combined with employer shortages, will lead to food shortages.

    Most amazing, fertile lands in the US – despoiled by power-mad ideologues.

    Those who seek to disarm us do so in order to enslave us or kill us.

    Throughout history, there is not one exception.

    Yep, all fixed. [wipes hands] We can relax, now.

    Oh, and “while protecting the rights of law-abiding gun owners
    doesn’t mention that they take the rights of those who are now not law-biding because the law changed (i.e. you have no rights).

    “The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren’t enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws.” ~~Ayn Rand

    It’s a start, Dick…

    But not near enuff…

    “Water and power shortages, …employer shortages
    Got ‘em.
    paid $7 for a head of cabbage last week. $7 Wouldn’t have done it but cole slaw was a necessity that day…

    …anybody know anything about the Williams AZ area?
    oh, no reason…

    ^Claire – c’mon to Virginia. Lots of farmland available here, and we need more patriots to stem the invasion of Dem cancer cells from DC.

    Google UN vehicles in America.
    Go to “Images”….

    Note the ones marked “weapons enforcement”.

    Joe: That would be an *insanely* optimistic (in the capabilities sense) move on the part of the UN and its cronies.

    The UN is awfully effective at abusing underage children, history has not been kind to their attempts to control armed adults.

    Joe Bandmember @9 – dang! that’s creepy.

    as Merovign @10 said, *insanely* optimistic. Yet the insanity continues to grow… [See "background checks for ammo" fercrapsake among others]

    Did y’all know that AZ has the Private Property Rights Protection Act? — “the strongest protection for property rights in the nation” — includes regulatory takings as well as full-on Kelo takings.

    VA does sound lovely, Dick @8, but I’m a Western Guurl. I think the cultural differences would tag me as an outlander — forever. In AZ, maybe I can pass as a Coloradoan instead of “another damned Californiak”.
