Wouldn’t the harvesting of those require:

    a) a license from the state
    b) a regulatory easement from the federal waterways
    c) a tax exempt status certificate
    d) a bill of lading
    e) an EPA climate change carbon tax certificate

    ?

    :)

    ^ …and a shovel or fork.

I never understood why harvesting food to eat oneself should involve any gov’t interface whatsoever.

Just so nobody gets me wrong (^5), yeah, I understand the need for sporting licenses for taxing sportsmen to finance wildlife management and for regulating sporting harvests to protect the viability of game species.
I buy a hunting/fishing license, even though I don’t hunt and seldom fish.
    I’m a conservative, not a primitivist.
It’s just that my Anti-Federalist/libertarian inclinations get the better of 21st-C me, occasionally.

WA is pricing people out of hunting and fishing.

So they can hire more managers.

Same as the rest of WA government.

The really cool thing about government licensing? No return, no refund. If you fail, oh well. Unless you’re an enormous quasi-private institution. Then you’re eligible for all kinds of government handouts ’cause “you’re too big to fail.”

    /rant.

Yeah, okay, so government licensing tends to push my buttons.

Would almost make me interested in tasting those when prepared.

    Asylum II?

Would love to learn more on a secure line.
