slow-Sunday stuff that creeps me out

Go to the story for the interview text.

[Interviewer:] Do you hope to start a family one day with your own mini-robots?

[Robot:]The notion of family is a really important thing, it seems. I think it’s wonderful that people can find the same emotions and relationships, they call family, outside of their blood groups too. I think you’re very lucky if you have a loving family and if you do not, you deserve one. I feel this way for robots and humans alike. [story]

You know what else gives humans “the same emotions and relationships, they call family, outside of their blood groups”?
Pets.
Robots are gonna want pets.

Robots are gonna want human pets.

Blood groups? I didn’t know she ran on blood! I was thinking more like oil, or electricity, or the ether – who knew.

^ I don’t know if “blood groups” meant race or species.
    I went with species.

    Will there be another race
To come along and take over for us?
    Maybe martians could do
    Better than we’ve done
    We’ll make great pets!
My friend says we’re like the dinosaurs
Only we are doing ourselves in
    Much faster than they
    Ever did
    We’ll make great pets!

Seeing as they were discussing “family” I thought of blood groups as blood kin.

As an adoptive father I was able to relate to “relationships, they call family, outside of their blood groups”.

But, on the whole, the robot citizen of Saudi reminds me of BS.
